يعتبر الاعتماد المستندي من أكثر الوسائل نجاعة في تسوية المدفوعات التجارية الدولية, و يتم ذلك من خلال تقديم المستفيد لمستندات مطابقة لشروط خطاب الاعتماد تحت طائلة رفض المستندات.
