This letter proposes a dynamic power splitting scheme (DPSS) for decode-and-forward (DF) based cooperative simultaneous wireless information and power transfer (SWIPT) networks with direct link. The relay node adopts an optimal dynamic power splitting factor determined by instantaneous channel state information (CSI) to harvest energy and process information. The expressions for the optimal dynamic power splitting factor, outage probability and ergodic capacity of the proposed network are derived. Numerical results show that the proposed scheme is better than or the same as the existing PS schemes in terms of outage probability, while it achieves higher ergodic capacity compared to the existing PS schemes.

A novel asymptotic closed-form probability density function (pdf) of the two-hop (TH) link is derived for a simultaneous wireless information and power transfer based differential amplify-and-forward system. Based on the pdf, asymptotic closed-form a verage bit-error rate expressions of the single TH link and the TH link with direct link combined with a linear combining scheme are both derived. Monte Carlo simulations verify the analytical expressions.
Non-orthogonal multiple access (NOMA) is considered to be one of the best candidates for future networks due to its ability to serve multiple users using the same resource block. Although early studies have focused on transmission reliability and ene rgy efficiency, recent works are considering cooperation among the nodes. The cooperative NOMA techniques allow the user with a better channel (near user) to act as a relay between the source and the user experiencing poor channel (far user). This paper considers the link security aspect of energy harvesting cooperative NOMA users. In particular, the near user applies the decode-and-forward (DF) protocol for relaying the message of the source node to the far user in the presence of an eavesdropper. Moreover, we consider that all the devices use power-splitting architecture for energy harvesting and information decoding. We derive the analytical expression of intercept probability. Next, we employ deep learning based optimization to find the optimal power allocation factor. The results show the robustness and superiority of deep learning optimization over conventional iterative search algorithm.
In this paper, we study the outage performance of simultaneous wireless information and power transfer (SWIP- T) based three-step two-way decode-and-forward (DF) relay networks, where both power-splitting (PS) and harvest-then-forward are employed. I n particular, we derive the expressions of terminal-to-terminal (T2T) and system outage probabilities based on a Gaussian-Chebyshev quadrature approximation, and obtain the T2T and system outage capacities. The effects of various system parameters, e.g., the static power allocation ratio at the relay, symmetric PS, as well as asymmetric PS, on the outage performance of the investigated network are examined. It is shown that our derived expression for T2T outage capacity is more accurate than existing analytical results, and that the asymmetric PS achieves a higher system outage capacity than the symmetric one when the channels between the relay node and the terminal nodes have different statistic gains.
This paper proposes a novel non-orthogonal multiple access (NOMA) assisted cooperative spectrum sharing network, in which one of the full-duplex (FD) secondary transmitters (STs) is chosen among many for forwarding the primary transmitters and its ow n information to primary receiver and secondary receivers, respectively, using NOMA technique. To stimulate the ST to conduct cooperative transmission and sustain its operations, the simultaneous wireless information and power transfer (SWIPT) technique is utilized by the ST to harvest the primary signals energy. In order to evaluate the proposed systems performance, the outage probability and system throughput for the primary and secondary networks are derived in tight closed-form approximations. Further, the sum rate optimization problem is formulated for the proposed cooperative network and a rapid convergent iterative algorithm is proposed to obtain the optimized power allocation coefficients. Numerical results show that FD, SWIPT, and NOMA techniques greatly boost the performance of cooperative spectrum-sharing network in terms of outage probability, system throughput, and sum rate compared to that of half-duplex NOMA and the conventional orthogonal multiple access-time division multiple access networks.

In this paper, we analyze the symbol error rate (SER) performance of the simultaneous wireless information and power transfer (SWIPT) enabled three-node differential decode-and-forward (DDF) relay networks, which adopt the power splitting (PS) protoc ol at the relay. The use of non-coherent differential modulation eliminates the need for sending training symbols to estimate the instantaneous channel state information (CSI) at all network nodes, and therefore improves the power efficiency, as compared with the coherent modulation. However, performance analysis results are not yet available for the state-of-the-art detectors such as the maximum-likelihood detector (MLD) and approximate MLD. Existing works rely on the Monte-Carlo simulation method to show the existence of an optimal PS ratio that minimizes the overall SER. In this work, we propose a near-optimal detector with linear complexity with respect to the modulation size. We derive an approximate SER expression and prove that the proposed detector achieves the full diversity order. Based on our expression, the optimal PS ratio can be accurately estimated without requiring any Monte-Carlo simulation. We also extend the proposed detector and its SER analysis for adopting the time switching (TS) protocol at the relay. Simulation results verify the effectiveness of our proposed detector and the accuracy of our SER results in various network scenarios for both PS and TS protocols.
