Using the standard Bardeen-Cooper-Schrieffer (BCS) theory, we revise microscopic derivation of the superconductor-insulator boundary conditions for the Ginzburg-Landau (GL) model. We obtain a negative contribution to free energy in the form of surface integral. Boundary conditions for the conventional superconductor have the form $textbf{n} cdot abla psi = text{const} psi$. These are shown to follow from considering the order parameter reflected in the boundary. The boundary conditions are also derived for more general GL models with higher-order derivatives and pair-density-wave states. It shows that the boundary states with higher critical temperature and the boundary gap enhancement, found recently in BCS theory, are also present in microscopically-derived GL theory. In the case of an applied external field, we show that the third critical magnetic-field value $H_{c3}$ is higher than what follows from the de Gennes boundary conditions and is also significant in type-I regime.

The Ginzburg-Landau (GL) equations for a d-wave superconductor are derived within the context of two microscopic lattice models used to describe the cuprates: the extended Hubbard model and the Antiferromagnetic-van Hove model. Both models have pairi ng on nearest-neighbour links, consistent with theories for d-wave superconductivity mediated by spin fluctuations. Analytical results obtained for the extended Hubbard model at low electron densities and weak-coupling are compared to results reported previously for a d-wave superconductor in the continuum. The variation of the coefficients in the GL equations with carrier density, temperature, and coupling constants are calculated numerically for both models. The relative importance of anisotropic higher-order terms in the GL free energy is investigated, and the implications for experimental observations of the vortex lattice are considered.
Since the concept of spin superconductor was proposed, all the related studies concentrate on spin-polarized case. Here, we generalize the study to spin-non-polarized case. The free energy of non-polarized spin superconductor is obtained, and the Gin zburg-Landau-type equations are derived by using the variational method. These Ginzburg-Landau-type equations can be reduced to the spin-polarized case when the spin direction is fixed. Moreover, the expressions of super linear and angular spin currents inside the superconductor are derived. We demonstrate that the electric field induced by super spin current is equal to the one induced by equivalent charge obtained from the second Ginzburg-Landau-type equation, which shows self-consistency of our theory. By applying these Ginzburg-Landau-type equations, the effect of electric field on the superconductor is also studied. These results will help us get a better understanding of the spin superconductor and the related topics such as Bose-Einstein condensate of magnons and spin superfluidity.

Self-consistent solutions of microscopic Eilenberger theory are presented for a two-dimensional model of a superconducting channel with a geometric constriction. Magnetic fields, external ones as well as those caused by the supercurrents, are include d and the relevant equations are solved numerically without further assumptions. Results concerning the influence of temperature, geometric parameters, of $kappa=lambda_L/xi_0$ and of external magnetic fields on the Andreev bound states in the weak link and on the current-phase relation are presented. We find that the Andreev bound states within the junction obtain peculiar substructure when a finite supercurrent flows. As long as the London penetration depth is comparable to or bigger than the extension of the constriction, the Josephson effect is independent of $kappa$. Furthermore, the weak link is very insensitive to external magnetic fields. Features restricted to a self-consistent calculation are discussed.
Shortly after the Gorkovs microscopic derivation of Ginzburg-Landau model via a small order parameter expansion in BCS theory, the derivation was carried to next-to-leading order in that parameter and its spatial derivatives. The aim was to obtain a generalized Ginzburg-Landau free energy that approximates the microscopic model better. We prove that the resulting extended Ginzburg-Landau functional does not support a superconducting state since it does not have any solutions in the form of free energy minima.
We prove the existence of an Inertial Manifold for 3D complex Ginzburg-Landau equation with periodic boundary conditions as well as for more general cross-diffusion system assuming that the dispersive exponent is not vanishing. The result is obtained under the assumption that the parameters of the equation is chosen in such a way that the finite-time blow up of smooth solutions does not take place. For the proof of this result we utilize the recently suggested method of spatio-temporal averaging.
