Recently a detailed correspondence was established between, on one side, four and five-dimensional large-N supersymmetric gauge theories with $mathcal{N}=2$ supersymmetry and adjoint matter, and, on the other side, integrable 1+1-dimensional quantum hydrodynamics. Under this correspondence the phenomenon of dimensional transmutation, familiar in asymptotically free QFTs, gets mapped to the transition from the elliptic Calogero-Moser many-body system to the closed Toda chain. In this paper we attempt to formulate the hydrodynamical counterpart of the dimensional transmutation phenomenon inspired by the identification of the periodic Intermediate Long Wave (ILW) equation as the hydrodynamical limit of the elliptic Calogero-Moser/Ruijsenaars-Schneider system. We also conjecture that the chiral flow in the vortex fluid provides the proper framework for the microscopic description of such dimensional transmutation in the 1+1d hydrodynamics. We provide a geometric description of this phenomenon in terms of the ADHM moduli space.

We investigate the quantum integrability of the Landau-Lifshitz model and solve the long-standing problem of finding the local quantum Hamiltonian for the arbitrary n-particle sector. The particular difficulty of the LL model quantization, which aris es due to the ill-defined operator product, is dealt with by simultaneously regularizing the operator product, and constructing the self-adjoint extensions of a very particular structure. The diagonalizibility difficulties of the Hamiltonian of the LL model, due to the highly singular nature of the quantum-mechanical Hamiltonian, are also resolved in our method for the arbitrary n-particle sector. We explicitly demonstrate the consistency of our construction with the quantum inverse scattering method due to Sklyanin, and give a prescription to systematically construct the general solution, which explains and generalizes the puzzling results of Sklyanin for the particular two-particle sector case. Moreover, we demonstrate the S-matrix factorization and show that it is a consequence of the discontinuity conditions on the functions involved in the construction of the self-adjoint extensions.

The possibility that particle production in high-energy collisions is a result of two asymmetric hydrodynamic flows is investigated, using the Khalatnikov form of the 1+1-dimensional approximation of hydrodynamic equations. The general solution is di scussed and applied to the physically appealing generalized in-out cascade where the space-time and energy-momentum rapidities are equal at initial temperature but boost-invariance is not imposed. It is demonstrated that the two-bump structure of the entropy density, characteristic of the asymmetric input, changes easily into a single broad maximum compatible with data on particle production in symmetric processes. A possible microscopic QCD interpretation of asymmetric hydrodynamics is proposed.
We study the $6j$ symbol for the conformal group, and its appearance in three seemingly unrelated contexts: the SYK model, conformal representation theory, and perturbative amplitudes in AdS. The contribution of the planar Feynman diagrams to the thr ee-point function of the bilinear singlets in SYK is shown to be a $6j$ symbol. We generalize the computation of these and other Feynman diagrams to $d$ dimensions. The $6j$ symbol can be viewed as the crossing kernel for conformal partial waves, which may be computed using the Lorentzian inversion formula. We provide closed-form expressions for $6j$ symbols in $d=1,2,4$. In AdS, we show that the $6j$ symbol is the Lorentzian inversion of a crossing-symmetric tree-level exchange amplitude, thus efficiently packaging the double-trace OPE data. Finally, we consider one-loop diagrams in AdS with internal scalars and external spinning operators, and show that the triangle diagram is a $6j$ symbol, while one-loop $n$-gon diagrams are built out of $6j$ symbols.
We present here a theory of fractional electro-magnetism which is capable of describing phenomenon as disparate as the non-locality of the Pippard kernel in superconductivity and anomalous dimensions for conserved currents in holographic dilatonic mo dels. The starting point for our analysis is the observation that the standard current conservation equations remain unchanged if any differential operator that commutes with the total exterior derivative multiplies the current. Such an operator, effectively changing the dimension of the current, increases the allowable gauge transformations in electromagnetism and is at the heart of Nothers second theorem. Here we develop a consistent theory of electromagnetism that exploits this hidden redundancy in which the standard gauge symmetry in electromagnetism is modified by the rotationally invariant operator, the fractional Laplacian. We show that the resultant theories all allow for anomalous (non-traditional) scaling dimensions of the gauge field and the associated current. Using well known extension theorems and the membrane paradigm, we show that either the boundary (UV) or horizon (IR) theory of holographic dilatonic models are both described by such fractional electromagnetism. We also show that the non-local Pippard kernel introduced to solve the problem of the Meissner effect in elemental superconductors can also be formulated as a special case of fractional electromagnetism. We show that the standard charge quantization rules fail when the gauge field acquires an anomalous dimension. The breakdown of charge quantization is discussed extensively in terms of the experimentally measurable modified Aharonov-Bohm effect in the strange metal phase of the cuprate superconductors.
The Brown-Ravenhall operator was initially proposed as an alternative to describe the fermion-fermion interaction via Coulomb potential and subject to relativity. This operator is defined in terms of the associated Dirac operator and the projection o nto the positive spectral subspace of the free Dirac operator. In this paper, we propose to analyze a modified version of the Brown-Ravenhall operator in two-dimensions. More specifically, we consider the Brown-Ravenhall operator with an attractive potential given by a Bessel-Macdonald function (also known as $K_0$-potential) using the Foldy-Wouthuysen unitary transformation. The $K_0$-potential is derived of the parity-preserving ${rm QED}_3$ model as a framework for evaluation of the fermion-fermion interaction potential. We prove that the two-dimensional Brown-Ravenhall operator with $K_0$-potential is bounded from below when the coupling constant is below a specified critical value (a property also referred to as stability). As by product, it is shown that the operator is in fact positive. We also investigate the location and nature of the spectrum of the Brown-Ravenhall operator with $K_0$-potential.
