We report high angular resolution observations of NGC1333 IRAS4A, a protostellar binary including A1 and A2, at 0.84 mm with the Atacama Large Millimeter/submillimeter Array. From the continuum observations, we suggest that the dust emission from the A1 core is optically thick, and A2 is predominantly optically thin. The A2 core, exhibiting a forest of spectral lines including complex molecules, is a well known hot corino as suggested by previous works. More importantly, we report, for the first time, the solid evidence of complex organic molecules (COMs), including CH3OH, ^13CH3OH, CH2DOH, CH3CHO associated with the A1 core seen in absorption. The absorption features mostly arise from a compact region around the continuum peak position of the A1 core. Rather than originating from a larger common envelope surrounding the protobinary, the COM features are associated with individual cores A1 and A2. Considering the signatures observed in both continuum and spectral lines, we propose two possible scenarios for IRAS 4A1 - the COM absorption lines may arise from a hot-corino-like atmosphere at the surface of an optically-thick circumstellar disk around A1, or the absorption may arise from different layers of a temperature-stratified dense envelope.

The Barnard 1b core shows signatures of being at the earliest stages of low-mass star formation, with two extremely young and deeply embedded protostellar objects. Hence, this core is an ideal target to study the structure and chemistry of the first objects formed in the collapse of prestellar cores. We present ALMA Band 6 spectral line observations at ~0.6 of angular resolution towards Barnard 1b. We have extracted the spectra towards both protostars, and used a Local Thermodynamic Equilibrium (LTE) model to reproduce the observed line profiles. B1b-S shows rich and complex spectra, with emission from high energy transitions of complex molecules, such as CH3OCOH and CH3CHO, including vibrational level transitions. We have tentatively detected for the first time in this source emission from NH2CN, NH2CHO, CH3CH2OH, CH2OHCHO, CH3CH2OCOH and both aGg and gGg conformers of (CH2OH)2. This is the first detection of ethyl formate (CH3CH2OCOH) towards a low-mass star forming region. On the other hand, the spectra of the FHSC candidate B1b-N are free of COMs emission. In order to fit the observed line profiles in B1b-S, we used a source model with two components: an inner hot and compact component (200 K, 0.35) and an outer and colder one (60 K, 0.6). The resulting COM abundances in B1b-S range from 1e-13 for NH2CN and NH2CHO, up to 1e-9 for CH3OCOH. Our ALMA Band 6 observations reveal the presence of a compact and hot component in B1b-S, with moderate abundances of complex organics. These results indicate that a hot corino is being formed in this very young Class 0 source.
We have analyzed the ALMA archival data of the SO ($J_N=6_5-5_4$ and $J_N=7_6-6_5$), CO ($J=2-1$), and CCH ($N=3-2, J=7/2-5/2, F=4-3$) lines from the class 0 protobinary system, NGC1333 IRAS 4A. The images of SO ($J_N = 6_5-5_4$) and CO ($J=2-1$) suc cessfully separate two northern outflow lobes connected to each protostar, IRAS 4A1 and IRAS 4A2. The outflow from IRAS 4A2 shows an S-shaped morphology, consisting of a flattened envelope around IRAS 4A2 with two outflow lobes connected to both edges of the envelope. The flattened envelope surrounding IRAS 4A2 has an opposite velocity gradient to that of the circumbinary envelope. The observed features are reproduced by the magnetohydrodynamic simulation of the collapsing core whose magnetic field direction is misaligned to the rotational axis. Our simulation shows that the intensity of the outflow lobes is enhanced on one side, resulting in the formation of S-shaped morphology. The S-shaped outflow can also be explained by the precessing outflow launched from an unresolved binary with a separation larger than 12 au (0.04arcsec). Additionally, we discovered a previously unknown extremely high velocity component at $sim$45-90 km/s near IRAS 4A2 with CO. CCH ($J_{N,F}=7/2_{3,4}-5/2_{2,3}$) emission shows two pairs of blobs attaching to the bottom of shell like feature, and the morphology is significantly different from those of SO and CO lines. Toward IRAS 4A2, the S-shaped outflow shown in SO is overlapped with the edges of CCH shells, while CCH shells have the velocity gradients opposite to the flattened structure around IRAS 4A2.
Complex organic molecules have previously been discovered in solar type protostars, raising the questions of where and how they form in the envelope. Possible formation mechanisms include grain mantle evaporation, interaction of the outflow with its surroundings or the impact of UV/X-rays inside the cavities. In this Letter we present the first interferometric observations of two complex molecules, CH3CN and HCOOCH3, towards the solar type protostar IRAS16293-2422. The images show that the emission originates from two compact regions centered on the two components of the binary system. We discuss how these results favor the grain mantle evaporation scenario and we investigate the implications of these observations for the chemical composition and physical and dynamical state of the two components.
We present Submillimeter Array (SMA) observations toward the high-mass star-forming region IRAS 18566+0408. Observations at 1.3 mm continuum and in several molecular line transitions were performed in the compact (2.4 angular resolution) and very-ext ended (~0.4 angular resolution) configurations. The continuum emission from the compact configuration shows a dust core of 150 Msun, while the very-extended configuration reveals a dense (2.6 x 10^7 cm^-3) and compact (~4,000 AU) condensation of 8 Msun. We detect 31 molecular transitions from 14 species including CO isotopologues, SO, CH3OH, OCS, and CH3CN. Using the different k-ladders of the CH3CN line, we derive a rotational temperature at the location of the continuum peak of 240 K. The 12CO(2-1), 13CO(2-1), and SO(6_5-5_4) lines reveal a molecular outflow at PA ~135^o centered at the continuum peak. The extended 12CO(2-1) emission has been recovered with the IRAM 30 m telescope observations. Using the combined data set, we derive an outflow mass of 16.8 Msun. The chemically rich spectrum and the high rotational temperature confirm that IRAS 18566+0408 is harboring a hot molecular core. We find no clear velocity gradient that could suggest the presence of a rotational disk-like structure, even at the high resolution observations obtained with the very-extended configuration.

We present sensitive, high angular resolution ($sim$ 0.2 arcsec) submillimeter continuum and line observations of IRAS 16293-2422B made with the Atacama Large Millimeter/Submillimeter Array (ALMA). The 0.45 mm continuum observations reveal a single a nd very compact source associated with IRAS 16293-2422B. This submillimeter source has a deconvolved angular size of about 400 {it milli-arcseconds} (50 AU), and does not show any inner structure inside of this diameter. The H$^{13}$CN, HC$^{15}$N, and CH$_{3}$OH line emission regions are about twice as large as the continuum emission and reveal a pronounced inner depression or hole with a size comparable to that estimated for the submillimeter continuum. We suggest that the presence of this inner depression and the fact that we do not see inner structure (or a flat structure) in the continuum is produced by very optically thick dust located in the innermost parts of IRAS 16293-2422B. All three lines also show pronounced inverse P-Cygni profiles with infall and dispersion velocities larger than those recently reported from observations at lower frequencies, suggesting that we are detecting faster, and more turbulent gas located closer to the central object. Finally, we report a small east-west velocity gradient in IRAS 16293-2422B that suggests that its disk plane is likely located very close to the plane of the sky.
