The gravitational part of the holographic dual to the SYK model has been conjectured to be Jackiw-Teitelboim (JT) gravity. In this paper we construct an AdS2 background in N = (2,2) JT gravity and show that the gravitational dynamics are - as in the N = 0 and N = 1 cases - fully captured by the extrinsic curvature as an effective boundary action. This boundary term is given by the super-Schwarzian of the N = 2 SYK model, thereby providing further evidence of the JT/SYK duality. The chirality of this SYK model is reproduced by the inherent chirality of axial N = (2,2) supergravity.

In this paper, we obtain a bulk dual to SYK model, including SYK model with $U(1)$ charge, by Kaluza-Klein (KK) reduction from three dimensions. We show that KK reduction of the 3D Einstein action plus its boundary term gives the Jackiw-Teitelboim (J T) model in 2D with the appropriate 1D boundary term. The size of the KK radius gets identified with the value of the dilaton in the resulting near-AdS$_2$ geometry. In presence of U(1) charge, the 3D model additionally includes a $U(1)$ Chern-Simons (CS) action. In order to describe a boundary theory with non-zero chemical potential, we also introduce a coupling between CS gauge field and bulk gravity. The 3D CS action plus the new coupling term with appropriate boundary terms reduce in two dimensions to a BF-type action plus a source term and boundary terms. The KK reduced 2D theory represents the soft sector of the charged SYK model. The pseudo-Nambu-Goldstone modes of combined $textit{Diff} /mathbb{SL}(2,mathbb{R})$ and $U(1)_{rm local}/U(1)$ transformations are represented by combined large diffeomorphisms and large gauge transformations. The effective action of the former is reproduced by the action cost of the latter in the bulk dual, after appropriate identification of parameters. We compute chaotic correlators from the bulk and reproduce the result that the contribution from the boundary photons corresponds to zero Liapunov exponent.
We propose a simplified protocol of quantum energy teleportation (QET) for holographic conformal field theory (CFT) in 3-dimensional anti-de Sitter space with or without black hole. As a tentative proposal, we simplify the standard QET by replacing A lices local measurement with the local projection, which excites the system from ground state into a particular state dual to a Banados geometry. We then mimic Bobs local operation of the usual QET for extracting energy by deforming the UV surface with a local bump. Adopting the surface/state duality this deformation corresponds to local unitary. We evaluate the extraction of energy from the holographic stress tensor, and find that Bob always gains energy extraction in our protocol. This could be related to the positive energy theorem of the dual gravity. Moreover, the ratio of extraction energy to injection one is a universal function of the UV surface deformation profile.

We compute the holographic entanglement entropy in the gravity with higher curvature terms dual to d=4 N=2 SCFTs in F-theory using the method proposed in arXiv:1011.5819. The log term of this entanglement entropy reproduces the A-type anomaly of the dual SCFTs in F- theory using the gravity dual with the higher derivative term, which, using the field redefinition, can be transformed to the Gauss-Bonnet term in the subleading order of a derivative expansion. Our analysis shows that the 1/N^2 correction for the central charges should be produced from the gravity including higher derivative terms up to curvature squared terms. To obtain consistent results, we discuss the holographic c-theorem.
We present an infinite class of 2+1 dimensional field theories which, after coupling to semi-holographic fermions, exhibit strange metallic behavior in a suitable large $N$ limit. These theories describe lattices of hypermultiplet defects interacting with parity-preserving supersymmetric Chern-Simons theories with $U(N) times U(N)$ gauge groups at levels $pm k$. They have dual gravitational descriptions in terms of lattices of probe M2 branes in $AdS_4 times S^7/Z_k$ (for $N gg 1, N gg k^5$) or probe D2 branes in $AdS_4 times CP^3$ (for $N gg k gg 1, N ll k^5$). We discuss several challenges one faces in maintaining the success of these models at finite $N$, including backreaction of the probes in the gravity solutions and radiative corrections in the weakly coupled field theory limit.
