Universal scaling of entanglement estimators of critical quantum systems has drawn a lot of attention in the past. Recent studies indicate that similar universal properties can be found for bipartite information estimators of classical systems near phase transitions, opening a new direction in the study of critical phenomena. We explore this subject by studying the information estimators of classical spin chains with general mean-field interactions. In our explicit analysis of two different bipartite information estimators in the canonical ensemble we find that, away from criticality both the estimators remain finite in the thermodynamic limit. On the other hand, along the critical line there is a logarithmic divergence with increasing system-size. The coefficient of the logarithm is fully determined by the mean-field interaction and it is the same for the class of models we consider. The scaling function, however, depends on the details of each model. In addition, we study the information estimators in the micro-canonical ensemble, where they are shown to exhibit a different universal behavior. We verify our results using numerical calculations of two specific cases of the general Hamiltonian.

For a mean-field classical spin system exhibiting a second-order phase transition in the stationary state, we obtain within the corresponding phase space evolution according to the Vlasov equation the values of the critical exponents describing power -law behavior of response to a small external field. The exponent values so obtained significantly differ from the ones obtained on the basis of an analysis of the static phase-space distribution, with no reference to dynamics. This work serves as an illustration that cautions against relying on a static approach, with no reference to the dynamical evolution, to extract critical exponent values for mean-field systems.

In this article, we investigate mean field effects for a bosonic gas harmonically trapped above the transition temperature in the collisionless regime. We point out that those effects can play also a role in low dimensional system. Our treatment reli es on the Boltzmann equation with the inclusion of the mean field term. The equilibrium state is first discussed. The dispersion relation for collective oscillations (monopole, quadrupole, dipole modes) is then derived. In particular, our treatment gives the frequency of the monopole mode in an isotropic and harmonic trap in the presence of mean field in all dimensions.
In a recent work [D. Malpetti and T. Roscilde, arXiv:1605.04223] we have shown that in quantum many-body systems at finite temperature, two-point correlations can be formally separated into a thermal part, and a quantum part -- and that generically q uantum correlations decay exponentially at finite temperature, with a characteristic, temperature-dependent quantum coherence length. The existence of these two different forms of correlation in quantum many-body systems suggests the possibility of formulating an approximation which affects quantum correlations only, without preventing the correct description of classical fluctuations at all length scales. Focusing on lattice boson and quantum Ising models, we make use of the path-integral formulation of quantum statistical mechanics to introduce such an approximation -- that we dub emph{quantum mean-field} (QMF) approach, and which can be readily generalized to a cluster form (cluster QMF or cQMF). The cQMF approximation reduces to cluster mean-field theory at $T=0$, while at any finite temperature it produces a family of systematically improved, semi-classical approximations to the quantum statistical mechanics of the lattice theory at hand. Contrary to standard MF approximations, the correct nature of thermal critical phenomena is captured by any cluster size. In the two exemplary cases of the two-dimensional quantum Ising model and of two-dimensional quantum rotors, we study systematically the convergence of the cQMF approximation towards the exact result, and show that the convergence is typically linear or sub-linear in the { boundary-to-bulk ratio} of the clusters as $Tto 0$, while it becomes faster than linear as $T$ grows. These results pave the way towards the development of semi-classical numerical approaches based on an approximate, { yet} systematically improved account of quantum correlations.
We apply the Kovacs experimental protocol to classical and quantum p-spin models. We show that these models have memory effects as those observed experimentally in super-cooled polymer melts. We discuss our results in connection to other classical mo dels that capture memory effects. We propose that a similar protocol applied to quantum glassy systems might be useful to understand their dynamics.

We construct and analyze a family of $M$-component vectorial spin systems which exhibit glass transitions and jamming within supercooled paramagnetic states without quenched disorder. Our system is defined on lattices with connectivity $c=alpha M$ an d becomes exactly solvable in the limit of large number of components $M to infty$. We consider generic $p$-body interactions between the vectorial Ising/continuous spins with linear/non-linear potentials. The existence of self-generated randomness is demonstrated by showing that the random energy model is recovered from a $M$-component ferromagnetic $p$-spin Ising model in $M to infty$ and $p to infty$ limit. In our systems the quenched disorder, if present, and the self-generated disorder act additively. Our theory provides a unified mean-field theoretical framework for glass transitions of rotational degree of freedoms such as orientation of molecules in glass forming liquids, color angles in continuous coloring of graphs and vector spins of geometrically frustrated magnets. The rotational glass transitions accompany various types of replica symmetry breaking. In the case of repulsive hardcore interactions in the spin space, continuous the criticality of the jamming or SAT/UNSTAT transition becomes the same as that of hardspheres.
