Here we present the study of FR Cnc, a young, active and spotted star. We performed analysis of ASAS-3 (The All Sky Automated Survey) data for the years 2002-2008 and amended the value of the rotational period to be 0.826518 d. The amplitude of photometric variations decreased abruptly in the year 2005, while the mean brightness remained the same, which was interpreted as a quick redistribution of spots. BVRc and Ic broad band photometric calibration was performed for 166 stars in FR Cnc vicinity. The photometry at Terskol Observatory shows two brightening episodes, one of which occurred at the same phase as the flare of 2006 November 23. Polarimetric BVR observations indicate the probable presence of a supplementary source of polarization. We monitored FR Cnc spectroscopically during the years 2004-2008. We concluded that the RV changes cannot be explained by the binary nature of FR Cnc. We determined the spectral type of FR Cnc as K7V. Calculated galactic space-velocity components (U, V, W) indicate that FR Cnc belongs to the young disc population and might also belong to the IC 2391 moving group. Based on LiI 6707.8 measurement, we estimated the age of FR Cnc to be between 10-120 Myr. Doppler Tomography was applied to create a starspot image of FR Cnc. We optimized the goodness of fit to the deconvolved profiles for axial inclination, equivalent width and v sin i, finding v sin i=46.2 km s^-1 and i=55 degrees. The starspot distribution of FR Cnc is also of interest since it is one of the latest spectral types to have been imaged. No polar spot was detected on FR Cnc.

EZ Cnc, or EPIC 212182292, is a non-Blazhko RRab variable star located in the field of K2 Campaign 16. Its atmospheric parameters ($T_{rm eff}$, $log{g}$, [M/H]) and radial velocities are measured from the 55 high-quality LAMOST medium-resolution spe ctra. The fundamental frequency of pulsation is derived as $f=1.8323(17)$ d$^{-1}$ from the K2 light curves. The amplitude ratios $R_{21} = 0.5115(15), 0.490(8)$, $R_{31} = 0.3249(20), 0.279(7)$ and Fourier phase differences $varphi_{21}=2.7550(20), 2.764(16)$, $varphi_{31}=5.7194(25), 5.719(31)$ are determined from the Fourier decomposition of K2 light curve and LAMOST radial velocity curve, respectively. Through the constraints of the parameters, four optimal models are obtained in a time-dependent turbulent convection model survey for EPIC 212182292. The parameters of EPIC 212182292 are derived as $M=0.48pm0.03$ M$_{odot}$, $L = 42pm2$ L$_{odot}$, $T_{rm eff}=6846pm50$ K, $log{g}=2.79pm0.01$ dex, and $Z = 0.006pm0.002$, respectively. The precisely determined parameters for RRab variable stars like EPIC 212180092 might help to better understand the period-luminosity relationship of RR Lyrae stars.
We present the results of photometry, linear spectropolarimetry, and imaging circular polarimetry ofcomet C/2009 P1 (Garradd) performed at the 6-m telescope BTA of the Special Astrophysical Observatory(Russia) equipped by the multi-mode focal reducer SCORPIO-2. The comet was observed at two epochspost-perihelion: on February 2-14, 2012 at r=1.6 au and {alpha}=36 {deg}; and on April 14-21, 2012 at r=2.2 au and {alpha}=27 deg. The spatial maps of the relative intensity and circular polarization as well as the spectral distribution of linear polarization are presented. There were two features (dust and gas tails) orientedin the solar and antisolar directions on February 2 and 14 that allowed us to determine rotation periodof the nucleus as 11.1 hours. We detected emissions of C2 , C3 , CN, CH, NH2 molecules as well as CO+ and H2O+ ions, along with a high level of the dust continuum. On February 2, the degree of linear polarization in the continuum, within the wavelength range of 0.67-0.68 {mu}m, was about 5% in the near-nucleus region up to near 6000 km and decreased to about 3% at near 40,000 km. The left-handed (negative) circular polarization at the level approximately from -0.06% to -0.4% was observed at the distances up to 3*10^4 km from the nucleus on February 14 and April 21, respectively.
We analyze the dust environment of the distant comet C/2014 A4 (SONEAR), with a perihelion distance near 4.1~au, using comprehensive observations obtained by different methods. We present an analysis of spectroscopy, photometry, and polarimetry of co met C/2014 A4 (SONEAR), which were performed on November 5~--~7, 2015, when its heliocentric distance was 4.2~au and phase angle was 4.7$^circ$. Long-slit spectra and photometric and linear polarimetric images were obtained using the focal reducer SCORPIO-2 attached to the prime focus of the 6-m telescope BTA (SAO RAS, Russia). We simulated the behavior of color and polarization in the coma presenting the cometary dust as a set of polydisperse polyshapes rough spheroids. No emissions were detected in the 3800~--~7200~$AA$ wavelength range. The continuum showed a reddening effect with the normalized gradient of reflectivity 21.6$pm$0.2% per 1000~$AA$ within the 4650~--~6200~$AA$ wavelength region. The fan-like structure in the sunward hemisphere was detected. The radial profiles of surface brightness differ for r-sdss and g-sdss filters, indicating predominance of submicron and micron-sized particles in cometary coma. The dust color (g--r) varies from 0.75$ pm $0.05$^m$ to 0.45$ pm $0.06$^m$ along the tail. For aperture radius near 20~000~km, the dust productions in various filters were estimated as $Afrho $~=~680$pm$18~cm (r-sdss) and 887$ pm $16~cm (g-sdss). The polarization map showed spatial variations of polarization over the coma from about --3% near the nucleus to --8% at cometocentric distance about 150~000~km. Our simulations show that the dust particles were dominated (or covered) by ice and tholin-like organics. Spatial changes in the color and polarization can be explained by particle fragmentation.
The High Optical Resolution Spectrograph (HORuS) is a new high-resolution echelle spectrograph available on the 10.4 m Gran Telescopio Canarias (GTC). We report on the first HORuS observations of a transit of the super-Earth planet 55 Cnc e. We inves tigate the presence of Na I and H$alpha$ in its transmission spectrum and explore the capabilities of HORuS for planetary transmission spectroscopy. Our methodology leads to residuals in the difference spectrum between the in-transit and out-of-transit spectra for the Na I doublet lines of (3.4 $pm$ 0.4) $times$ 10$^{-4}$, which sets an upper limit to the detection of line absorption from the planetary atmosphere that is one order of magnitude more stringent that those reported in the literature. We demonstrate that we are able to reach the photon-noise limit in the residual spectra using HORuS to a degree that we would be able to easily detect giant planets with larger atmospheres. In addition, we modelled the structure, chemistry and transmission spectrum of 55 Cnc e using state-of-the-art open source tools.

We present very sensitive polarimetry of 55 Cnc and tau Boo in an attempt to detect the partially polarised reflected light from the planets orbiting these two stars. 55 Cnc is orbited by a hot Neptune planet (55 Cnc e) at 0.038 AU, a hot Jupiter pla net (55 Cnc b) at 0.11 AU, and at least 3 more distant planets. The polarisation of this system is very stable, showing no sign of the periodic variations that would be expected if a short period planet were detected. The measured standard deviation of the night averaged Stokes Q/I and U/I parameters is 2.2x10^{-6}. We derive upper limits on the geometric albedo, A_G and planetary radius using Monte Carlo multiple scattering simulations of a simple model atmosphere. We assume Rayleigh-like scattering (scaled by the maximum polarisation, p_m at 90 degrees) and pressure insensitive extinction. Atmospheres in which multiple scattering plays only a small role have an almost linear relation between polarisation and A_G. In this case, the 4 sigma upper limits is A_G<0.13(R/1.2 R_{Jup})^{-2}p_m^{-1} for 55 Cnc e. This suggests that 55 Cnc e is relatively small and not a pure H-He planet. The data do not give a useful upper limit for 55 Cnc b. tau Boo is orbited by an unusually massive hot Jupiter planet. The standard deviation in the night averaged Stokes Q/I and U/I polarisation parameters is 5.1x10^{-6}. The 4 sigma upper limit is A_G<0.37(R/1.2 R_{Jup})^{-2}p_m^{-1} for tau Boo b. This extends the similar upper limits reported previously for this planet to longer wavelengths. The larger scatter in the tau Boo data may be due to the spot activity detected photometrically by the MOST satellite. These results contrast markedly with the recent claim of a 3 sigma detection of a periodic polarisation signal from HD189733 with amplitude P=2x10^{-4}, attributed to the planet HD189733 b.
