By using $phi$ -mapping method, we discuss the topological structure of the self-duality solution in Jackiw-Pi model in terms of gauge potential decomposition. We set up relationship between Chern-Simons vortices solution and topological number which is determined by Hopf index and and Brouwer degree. We also give the quantization of flux in the case. Then, we study the angular momentum of the vortex, it can be expressed in terms of the flux.

In this paper we analyze a generalized Jackiw-Rebbi (J-R) model in which a massive fermion is coupled to the kink of the $lambdaphi^4$ model as a prescribed background field. We solve this massive J-R model exactly and analytically and obtain the who le spectrum of the fermion, including the bound and continuum states. The mass term of the fermion makes the potential of the decoupled second order Schrodinger-like equations asymmetric in a way that their asymptotic values at two spatial infinities are different. Therefore, we encounter the unusual problem in which two kinds of continuum states are possible for the fermion: reflecting and scattering states. We then show the energies of all the states as a function of the parameters of the kink, i.e. its value at spatial infinity ($theta_0$) and its slope at $x=0$ ($mu$). The graph of the energies as a function of $theta_0$, where the bound state energies and the two kinds of continuum states are depicted, shows peculiar features including an energy gap in the form of a triangle where no bound states exist. That is the zero mode exists only for $theta_0$ larger than a critical value $(theta_0^{textrm{c}})$. This is in sharp contrast to the usual (massless) J-R model where the zero mode and hence the fermion number $pm1/2$ for the ground state is ever present. This also makes the origin of the zero mode very clear: It is formed from the union of the two threshold bound states at $theta_0^{textrm{c}}$, which is zero in the massless J-R model.
The symplectic analysis for the four dimensional Pontryagin and Euler invariants is performed within the Faddeev-Jackiw context. The Faddeev-Jackiw constraints and the generalized Faddeev-Jackiw brackets are reported; we show that in spite of the Pon tryagin and Euler classes give rise the same equations of motion, its respective symplectic structures are different to each other. In addition, a quantum state that solves the Faddeev-Jackiw constraints is found, and we show that the quantum states for these invariants are different to each other. Finally, we present some remarks and conclusions.

We formulate AdS_2 higher spin gravity as BF theory with fields taking values in sl(N,R) algebra treated as higher spin algebra. The theory is topological and naturally extends the Jackiw-Teitelboim gravity model so as to include higher spin fields. The BF equations linearized about AdS_2 background are interpreted as describing higher spin partially-massless fields of maximal depth along with dilaton fields. It is shown that there are dual metric-like formulations following from the original linearized BF higher spin theory. The duality establishes a dynamical equivalence of the metric-like field equations that can be given either as massive scalar field equations or as conservation conditions for higher spin currents.
We revisit a deformed Jackiw-Teitelboim model with a hyperbolic dilaton potential, constructed in the preceding work [arXiv:1701.06340]. Several solutions are discussed in a series of the subsequent papers, but all of them are pathological because of a naked singularity intrinsic to the deformation. In this paper, by employing a Weyl transformation to the original deformed model, we consider a Liouville-type potential with a cosmological constant term. Then regular solutions can be constructed with coupling to a conformal matter by using $SL(2)$ transformations. For a black hole solution, the Bekenstein-Hawking entropy is computed from the area law. It can also be reproduced by evaluating the boundary stress tensor with an appropriate local counter-term (which is essentially provided by a Liouville-type potential).
In this paper we have analyzed the improved version of the Gauge Unfixing (GU) formalism of the massive Carroll-Field-Jackiw model, which breaks both the Lorentz and gauge invariances, to disclose hidden symmetries to obtain gauge invariance, the key stone of the Standard Model. In this process, as usual, we have converted this second-class system into a first-class one and we have obtained two gauge invariant models. We have verified that the Poisson brackets involving the gauge invariant variables, obtained through the GU formalism, coincide with the Dirac brackets between the original second-class variables of the phase space. Finally, we have obtained two gauge invariant Lagrangians where one of them represents the Stueckelberg form.
