Relativistic quantum field theory in the presence of an external electric potential in a general curved space-time geometry is considered. The Fermi coordinates adapted to the time-like geodesic are utilized to describe the low-energy physics in the laboratory and to calculate the leading correction due to the curvature of the space-time geometry to the Schrodinger equation. The correction is employed to calculate the probability of excitation for a hydrogen atom that falls in or is scattered by a general Schwarzchild black hole. Since the excited states decay due to spontaneous photon emission, this study provides the theoretical base for detection of small isolated black holes by observing the decay of the excited states as neutral hydrogen atoms in the vacuum are devoured by the black hole.

The Snyder-de Sitter model is an extension of the Snyder model to a de Sitter background. It is called triply special relativity (TSR) because it is based on three fundamental parameters: speed of light, Planck mass, and the cosmological constant. In this paper, we study the three dimensional DKP oscillator for spin zero and one in the framework of Snyder-de Sitter algebra in momentum space. By using the technique of vector spherical harmonics the energy spectrum and the corresponding eigenfunctions are obtained for both cases.
The current race in quantum communication -- endeavouring to establish a global quantum network -- must account for special and general relativistic effects. The well-studied general relativistic effects include Shapiro time-delay, gravitational lens ing, and frame dragging which all are due to how a mass distribution alters geodesics. Here, we report how the curvature of spacetime geometry affects the propagation of information carriers along an arbitrary geodesic. An explicit expression for the distortion onto the carrier wavefunction in terms of the Riemann curvature is obtained. Furthermore, we investigate this distortion for anti-de Sitter and Schwarzschild geometries. For instance, the spacetime curvature causes a 0.10~radian phase-shift for communication between Earth and the International Space Station on a monochromatic laser beam and quadrupole astigmatism can cause a 12.2 % cross-talk between structured modes traversing through the solar system. Our finding shows that this gravitational distortion is significant, and it needs to be either pre- or post-corrected at the sender or receiver to retrieve the information.

We present a phenomenological model for the nature in the Finsler and Randers space-time geometries. We show that the parity-odd light speed anisotropy perpendicular to the gravitational equipotential surfaces encodes the deviation from the Riemann g eometry toward the Randers geometry. We utilize an asymmetrical ring resonator and propose a setup in order to directly measure this deviation. We address the constraints that the current technology will impose on the deviation should the anisotropy be measured on the Earth surface and the orbits of artificial satellites.

We discuss equilibration process in expanding universes as compared to the thermalization process in Minkowski space--time. The final goal is to answer the following question: Is the equilibrium reached before the rapid expansion stops and quantum ef fects have a negligible effect on the background geometry or stress--energy fluxes in a highly curved early Universe have strong effects on the expansion rate and the equilibrium is reached only after the drastic decrease of the space--time curvature? We argue that consideration of more generic non--invariant states in theories with invariant actions is a necessary ingredient to understand quantum field dynamics in strongly curved backgrounds. We are talking about such states in which correlation functions are not functions of such isometry invariants as geodesic distances, while having correct UV behaviour. The reason to consider such states is the presence of IR secular memory effects for generic time dependent backgrounds, which are totally absent in equilibrium. These effects strongly affect the destiny of observables in highly curved space--times.
In this paper the Feynman Green function for Maxwells theory in curved space-time is studied by using the Fock-Schwinger-DeWitt asymptotic expansion; the point-splitting method is then applied, since it is a valuable tool for regularizing divergent o bservables. Among these, the stress-energy tensor is expressed in terms of second covariant derivatives of the Hadamard Green function, which is also closely linked to the effective action; therefore one obtains a series expansion for the stress-energy tensor. Its divergent part can be isolated, and a concise formula is here obtained: by dimensional analysis and combinatorics, there are two kinds of terms: quadratic in curvature tensors (Riemann, Ricci tensors and scalar curvature) and linear in their second covariant derivatives. This formula holds for every space-time metric; it is made even more explicit in the physically relevant particular cases of Ricci-flat and maximally symmetric spaces, and fully evaluated for some examples of physical interest: Kerr and Schwarzschild metrics and de Sitter space-time.
