Using the soft pion theorem, crossing, and the dispersion relations for the two pion distribution amplitude ($2pi$DA) we argue that the second Gegenbauer moment the $rho$-meson DA ($a_2^{(rho)}$) most probably is negative. This result is at variance with the majority of the model calculations for $a_2^{(rho)}$. Using the instanton theory of the QCD vacuum, we computed $a_2^{(rho)}$ at a low normalisation point and obtain for the ratio $ a_2^{(rho)}/M_3^{(pi)}$ {it definitely negative value} in the range of $a_2^{(rho)}/M_3^{(pi)}in [-2, -1]$. The range of values corresponds to a generous variation of the parameters of the instanton vacuum. The value of the second Gegenbauer moment of pion DA is positive in the whole range and is compatible with its the most advanced lattice measurement. It seems that the topologically non-trivial field configurations in the QCD vacuum (instantons) lead to qualitatively different shapes of the pion and the $rho$-meson DAs.

A new method for the model-independent determination of the light-cone distribution amplitude (LCDA) of the $B$-meson in heavy quark effective theory (HQET) is proposed by combining the large momentum effective theory (LaMET) and the numerical simula tion technique on the Euclidean lattice. We demonstrate the autonomous scale dependence of the non-local quasi-HQET operator with the aid of the auxiliary field approach, and further determine the perturbative matching coefficient entering the hard-collinear factorization formula for the $B$-meson quasi-distribution amplitude at the one-loop accuracy. These results will be crucial to explore the partonic structure of heavy-quark hadrons in the static limit and to improve the theory description of exclusive $B$-meson decay amplitudes based upon perturbative QCD factorization theorems.

The pion distribution amplitude (DA) can be related to the fundamental QCD Greens functions as a function of the quark self-energy and the quark-pion vertex, which in turn are associated with the pion wave function through the Bethe-Salpeter equation . Considering the extreme hard asymptotic behavior in momentum space allowed for a pseudoscalar wave function, which is limited by its normalization condition, we compute the pion DA and its second moment. From the resulting amplitude, representing the field theoretical upper limit on the DA behavior, we calculate the photon-pion transition form factor $F_{pigammagamma^{ast}}(Q^{2})$. The resulting upper limit on the pion transition form factor is compared with existing data published by CLEO, BaBar and Belle collaborations.
We present preliminary results for the second moment of the pions distribution amplitude. The lattice formulation and the phenomenological implications are briefly reviewed, with special emphasis on some subtleties that arise when the Lorentz group i s replaced by the hypercubic group. Having analysed more than half of the available configurations, the result obtained is xi^2_L = 0.06 pm 0.02.
Using the second moment of the pion distribution amplitude as an example, we investigate whether lattice calculations of matrix elements of local operators involving covariant derivatives may benefit from the recently proposed momentum smearing techn ique for hadronic interpolators. Comparing the momentum smearing technique to the traditional Wuppertal smearing we find - at equal computational cost - a considerable reduction of the statistical errors. The present investigation was carried out using $N_f=2+1$ dynamical non-perturbatively order $a$ improved Wilson fermions on lattices of different volumes and pion masses down to 220 MeV.
We present the results of a lattice study of the second moment of the light-cone pion distribution amplitude using two flavors of dynamical (clover) fermions on lattices of different volumes and pion masses down to $m_pisim 150 , mathrm {MeV}$. At la ttice spacings between $0.06 , mathrm {fm}$ and $0.08 , mathrm {fm}$ we find for the second Gegenbauer moment the value $a_2 = 0.1364(154)(145)$ at the scale $mu=2 , mathrm {GeV}$ in the $overline{mathrm{MS}}$ scheme, where the first error is statistical including the uncertainty of the chiral extrapolation, and the second error is the estimated uncertainty coming from the nonperturbatively determined renormalization factors.
