We extend the standard second order effective chiral Lagrangian of pions and nucleons by considering the coupling to an external gravitational field. As an application we calculate one-loop corrections to the one-nucleon matrix element of the energy-momentum tensor to fourth order in chiral counting, and next-to-leading order tree-level amplitude of the pion-production in an external gravitational field. We discuss the relation of the obtained results to experimentally measurable observables. Our expressions for the chiral corrections to the nucleon gravitational form factors differ from those in the literature. That might require to revisit the chiral extrapolation of the lattice data on the nucleon gravitational form factors obtained in the past.
We investigate inhomogeneous chiral condensates, such as the so-called dual chiral density wave of dense quark matter, under an external magnetic field at finite real and imaginary chemical potentials. In a model-independent manner, we find that anal
The Drell-Yan process provides important information on the internal structure of hadrons including transverse momentum dependent parton distribution functions (TMDs). In this work we present calculations for all leading twist structure functions des
We present two-loop results for the quark condensate in an external magnetic field within chiral perturbation theory using coordinate space techniques. At finite temperature, we explore the impact of the magnetic field on the pion-pion interaction in
Considering the strong field approximation we compute the hard thermal loop pressure at finite temperature and chemical potential of hot and dense deconfined QCD matter in lowest Landau level in one-loop order. We consider the anisotropic pressure in
We reconsider the problem of calculating the vacuum free energy (density) of QCD and the shift of the quark condensates in the presence of a uniform background magnetic field using two-and-three-flavor chiral perturbation theory ($chi$PT). Using the
