A $^{59}$Co nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) measurement was performed on the single-crystalline ferromagnetic (FM) superconductor UCoGe under a pressure of 1.09 GPa, where the FM state is suppressed and superconductivity occurs in the paramagnetic (PM) state, to study the superconducting (SC) state in the PMstate. $^{59}$Co-NMR spectra became broader but hardly shifted across the SC transition temperature. The Knight-shift change determined from fitting the spectral peak with a Gaussian was much smaller than the spin part of the Knight shift; this is in good agreement with the spin-triplet pairing suggested from the large upper critical field. The spectrum broadening in the SC state cannot be attributed to the SC diamagnetic effect but is related to the properties of spin-triplet superconductivity. The origins of the broadening are discussed herein.

We have carried out direction-dependent ^{59}Co NMR experiments on a single crystal sample of the ferromagnetic superconductor UCoGe in order to study the magnetic properties in the normal state. The Knight shift and nuclear spin-lattice relaxation r ate measurements provide microscopic evidence that both static and dynamic susceptibilities are ferromagnetic with strong Ising anisotropy. We discuss that superconductivity induced by these magnetic fluctuations prefers spin-triplet pairing state.
Identification of pairing mechanisms leading to the unconventional superconductivity realized in copper-oxide, heavy-fermions, and organic compounds is one of the most challenging issues in condensed-matter physics. Clear evidence for an electron-pho non mechanism in conventional superconductors is seen by the isotope effect on the superconducting transition temperatures $T_{rm SC}$, since isotopic substitution varies the phonon frequency without affecting the electronic states. In unconventional superconductors, magnetic fluctuations have been proposed to mediate superconductivity, and considerable efforts have been made to unravel relationships between normal-state magnetic fluctuations and superconductivity. Here, we show that characteristic experimental results on the ferromagnetic (FM) superconductor UCoGe ($T_{rm Curie} sim 2.5 $ K and $T_{rm SC} sim 0.6$ K) can be understood consistently within a scenario of the spin-triplet superconductivity induced by FM spin fluctuations. Temperature and angle dependencies of the upper critical magnetic field of the superconductivity ($H_{c2}$) are calculated on the basis of the above scenario by solving the Eliashberg equation. Calculated $H_{c2}$ well agrees with the characteristic experimental results observed in UCoGe. This is a first example that FM fluctuations are shown to be a pairing glue of superconductivity.
The phase separation of the ferromagnetic (FM) and paramagnetic (PM) phases in the superconducting (SC) state of UCoGe at the FM critical region was investigated using $^{59}$Co nuclear quadrupole resonance (NQR) technique by taking advantage of its site-selective feature. The NQR measurements revealed that the first-order quantum phase transition occurs between the FM and the PM states. The nuclear spin-lattice relaxation rate $1/T_1$ exhibited a clear drop at the SC state in the PM phase, whereas it was not detected in the FM phase, which indicates that the superconductivity in the FM phase becomes weaker at the FM critical region due to the presence of the PM SC state. This result suggests that the SC condensation energy of the PM SC state is equal or larger than that of the FM SC state in this region. The pressure-temperature phase diagram of UCoGe was modified by taking the results from this study into account.

From detailed angle-resolved NMR and Meissner measurements on a ferromagnetic (FM) superconductor UCoGe (T_Curie ~ 2.5 K and T_SC ~ 0.6 K), we show that superconductivity in UCoGe is tightly coupled with longitudinal FM spin fluctuations along the c axis. We found that magnetic fields along the c axis (H || c) strongly suppress the FM fluctuations and that the superconductivity is observed in the limited magnetic field region where the longitudinal FM spin fluctuations are active. These results combined with model calculations strongly suggest that the longitudinal FM spin fluctuations tuned by H || c induce the unique spin-triplet superconductivity in UCoGe. This is the first clear example that FM fluctuations are intimately related with superconductivity.
Nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) measurements on the $^{195}$Pt nucleus in an aligned powder of the moderately heavy-fermion material U2PtC2 are consistent with spin-triplet pairing in its superconducting state. Across the superconducting transition temperature and to much lower temperatures, the NMR Knight shift is temperature independent for field both parallel and perpendicular to the tetragonal c-axis, expected for triplet equal-spin pairing superconductivity. The NMR spin-lattice relaxation rate 1/T$_1$, in the normal state, exhibits characteristics of ferromagnetic fluctuations, compatible with an enhanced Wilson ratio. In the superconducting state, 1/T$_1$ follows a power law with temperature without a coherence peak giving additional support that U$_2$PtC$_2$ is an unconventional superconductor. Bulk measurements of the AC-susceptibility and resistivity indicate that the upper critical field exceeds the Pauli limiting field for spin-singlet pairing and is near the orbital limiting field, an additional indication for spin-triplet pairing.
