We show that wave breaking occurs with positive probability for the Stochastic Camassa-Holm (SCH) equation. This means that temporal stochasticity in the diffeomorphic flow map for SCH does not prevent the wave breaking process which leads to the for mation of peakon solutions. We conjecture that the time-asymptotic solutions of SCH will consist of emergent wave trains of peakons moving along stochastic space-time paths.

In the small dispersion limit, solutions to the Korteweg-de Vries equation develop an interval of fast oscillations after a certain time. We obtain a universal asymptotic expansion for the Korteweg-de Vries solution near the leading edge of the oscil latory zone up to second order corrections. This expansion involves the Hastings-McLeod solution of the Painleve II equation. We prove our results using the Riemann-Hilbert approach.
We solve the inverse spectral problem associated with periodic conservative multi-peakon solutions of the Camassa-Holm equation. The corresponding isospectral sets can be identified with finite dimensional tori.
In the present paper, we investigate some geometrical properties of the Camass-Holm equation (CHE). We establish the geometrical equivalence between the CHE and the M-CIV equation using a link with the motion of curves. We also show that these two equations are gauge equivalent each to other.
It is pointed out that the higher-order symmetries of the Camassa-Holm (CH) equation are nonlocal and nonlocality poses problems to obtain higher-order conserved densities for this integrable equation (J. Phys. A: Math. Gen. 2005, {bf 38} 869-880). T his difficulty is circumvented by defining a nolinear hierarchy for the CH equation and an explicit expression is constructed for the nth-order conserved density.
