We study the proton-neutron RPA with an extended Lipikin-Meshkov-Glick model. We pay attention to the effect of correlated ground state and the case in which neutron and proton numbers are different. The effect of the correlated ground state are tested on the basis of quasi-boson approximation. We obtain the result that RPA excitation energies and transition strengths are in a good agreement with the exact solution up to a certain strength of the particle-particle interaction. However, the transition strength becomes worse if we consider the case in which neutron and proton numbers are different even at a weak particle-particle interaction.

The Lipkin-Meshkov-Glick (LMG) model was devised to test the validity of different approximate formalisms to treat many-particle systems. The model was constructed to be exactly solvable and yet non-trivial, in order to capture some of the main featu res of real physical systems. In the present contribution, we explicitly review the fact that different many-body approximations commonly used in different fields in physics clearly fail to describe the exact LMG solution. With similar assumptions as those adopted for the LMG model, we propose a new Hamiltonian based on a general two-body interaction. The new model (Extended LMG) is not only more general than the original LMG model and, therefore, with a potentially larger spectrum of applicability, but also the physics behind its exact solution can be much better captured by common many-body approximations. At the basis of this improvement lies a new term in the Hamiltonian that depends on the number of constituents and polarizes the system; the associated symmetry breaking is discussed, together with some implications for the study of more realistic systems.
We discuss proton decay in a recently proposed model of supersymmetric hybrid inflation based on the gauge symmetry $SU(4)_c times SU(2)_L times SU(2)_R$. A $U(1), R$ symmetry plays an essential role in realizing inflation as well as in eliminating s ome undesirable baryon number violating operators. Proton decay is primarily mediated by a variety of color triplets from chiral superfields, and it lies in the observable range for a range of intermediate scale masses for the triplets. The decay modes include $p rightarrow e^{+}(mu^+) + pi^0$, $p rightarrow bar{ u} + pi^{+}$, $p rightarrow K^0 + e^+(mu^{+})$, and $p rightarrow K^+ + bar{ u}$, with a lifetime estimate of order $10^{34}-10^{36}$ yrs and accessible at Hyper-Kamiokande and future upgrades. The unification at the Grand Unified Theory (GUT) scale $M_{rm GUT}$ ($sim 10^{16}$ GeV) of the Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model (MSSM) gauge couplings is briefly discussed.
New boson representation of the su(2)-algebra proposed by the present authors for describing the damped and amplified oscillator is examined in the Lipkin model as one of simple many-fermion models. This boson representation is expressed in terms of two kinds of bosons with a certain positive parameter. In order to describe the case of any fermion number, third boson is introduced. Through this examination, it is concluded that this representation is well workable for the boson realization of the Lipkin model in any fermion number.
The dynamics of the one-tangle and the concurrence is analyzed in the Lipkin-Meshkov-Glick model which describes many physical systems such as the two-mode Bose-Einstein condensates. We consider two different initial states which are physically relev ant and show that their entanglement dynamics are very different. A semiclassical analysis is used to compute the one-tangle which measures the entanglement of one spin with all the others, whereas the frozen-spin approximation allows us to compute the concurrence using its mapping onto the spin squeezing parameter.
We establish a set of nonequilibrium quantum phase transitions in the Lipkin-Meshkov-Glick model under monochromatic modulation of the inter-particle interaction. We show that the external driving induces a rich phase diagram that characterizes the m ultistability in the system. Interestingly, the number of stable configurations can be tuned by increasing the amplitude of the driving field. Furthermore, by studying the quantum evolution, we demonstrate that the system exhibits a set of quantum phases that correspond to dynamically stabilized states.
