In this paper we present a categorical version of the first and second fundamental theorems of the invariant theory for the quantized symplectic groups. Our methods depend on the theory of braided strict monoidal categories which are pivotal, more explicitly the diagram category of framed tangles.
We study generalizations of a classical link invariant -- the multivariable Alexander polynomial -- to tangles. The starting point is Archibalds tMVA invariant for virtual tangles which lives in the setting of circuit algebras, and whose target space
has dimension that is exponential in the number of strands. Using the Hodge star map and restricting to tangles without closed components, we define a reduction of the tMVA to an invariant rMVA which is valued in matrices with Laurent polynomial entries, and so has a much more compact target space. We show the rMVA has the structure of a metamonoid morphism and is further equivalent to a tangle invariant defined by Bar-Natan. This invariant also reduces to the Gassner representation on braids and has a partially defined trace operation for closing open strands of a tangle.
We first give a short intrinsic, diagrammatic proof of the First Fundamental Theorem of invariant theory (FFT) for the special orthogonal group $text{SO}_m(mathbb{C})$, given the FFT for $text{O}_m(mathbb{C})$. We then define, by means of a presentat
ion with generators and relations, an enhanced Brauer category $widetilde{mathcal{B}}(m)$ by adding a single generator to the usual Brauer category $mathcal{B}(m)$, together with four relations. We prove that our category $widetilde{mathcal{B}}(m)$ is actually (and remarkably) {em equivalent} to the category of representations of $text{SO}_m$ generated by the natural representation. The FFT for $text{SO}_m$ amounts to the surjectivity of a certain functor $mathcal{F}$ on $text{Hom}$ spaces, while the Second Fundamental Theorem for $text{SO}_m$ says simply that $mathcal{F}$ is injective on $text{Hom}$ spaces. This theorem provides a diagrammatic means of computing the dimensions of spaces of homomorphisms between tensor modules for $text{SO}_m$ (for any $m$). These methods will be applied to the case of the orthosymplectic Lie algebras $text{osp}(m|2n)$, where the super-Pfaffian enters, in a future work.
Let $mathfrak{g}_0$ be a simple Lie algebra of type ADE and let $U_q(mathfrak{g})$ be the corresponding untwisted quantum affine algebra. We show that there exists an action of the braid group $B(mathfrak{g}_0)$ on the quantum Grothendieck ring $K_t(
mathfrak{g})$ of Hernandez-Leclercs category $C_{mathfrak{g}}^0$. Focused on the case of type $A_{N-1}$, we construct a family of monoidal autofunctors ${mathscr{S}_i}_{iin mathbb{Z}}$ on a localization $T_N$ of the category of finite-dimensional graded modules over the quiver Hecke algebra of type $A_{infty}$. Under an isomorphism between the Grothendieck ring $K(T_N)$ of $T_N$ and the quantum Grothendieck ring $K_t({A^{(1)}_{N-1}})$, the functors ${mathscr{S}_i}_{1le ile N-1}$ recover the action of the braid group $B(A_{N-1})$. We investigate further properties of these functors.
This article aims to contribute to the study of algebras with triangular decomposition over a Hopf algebra, as well as the BGG Category O. We study functorial properties of O across various setups. The first setup is over a skew group ring, involving
a finite group $Gamma$ acting on a regular triangular algebra $A$. We develop Clifford theory for $A rtimes Gamma$, and obtain results on block decomposition, complete reducibility, and enough projectives. O is shown to be a highest weight category when $A$ satisfies one of the Conditions (S); the BGG Reciprocity formula is slightly different because the duality functor need not preserve each simple module. Next, we turn to tensor products of such skew group rings; such a product is also a skew group ring. We are thus able to relate four different types of Categories O; more precisely, we list several conditions, each of which is equivalent in any one setup, to any other setup - and which yield information about O.
A heap is a set with a certain ternary operation that is self-distributive (TSD) and exemplified by a group with the operation $(x,y,z)mapsto xy^{-1}z$. We introduce and investigate framed link invariants using heaps. In analogy with the knot group,
we define the fundamental heap of framed links using group presentations. The fundamental heap is determined for some classes of links such as certain families of torus and pretzel links. We show that for these families of links there exist epimorphisms from fundamental heaps to Vinberg and Coxeter groups, implying that corresponding groups are infinite. A relation to the Wirtinger presentation is also described. The cocycle invariant is defined using ternary self-distributive (TSD) cohomology, by means of a state sum that uses ternary heap $2$-cocycles as weights. It is shown that the cohomology splits into two types, called degenerate and nondegenerate, and that the degenerate part is one dimensional. Subcomplexes are constructed based on group cosets, that allow computations of the nondegenerate part. We apply colorings inferred from fundamental heaps to compute cocycle invariants, and prove that the invariant values can be used to derive algebraic properties of the cohomology.
