The quasiparticle random phase approximation is used to study the properties of the wobbling bands in $^{163}$Lu. Assuming that the wobbling mode represents pure isoscalar orientation oscillations results in too low wobbling frequencies and too strong M1 transitions between the one- and zero-phonon wobbling bands. The inclusion of an LL interaction, which couples the wobbling mode to the scissors mode, generates the right upshift of the wobbling frequencies and the right suppression of the B(M1)$_{out}$ values toward the experimental values. In analogy to the quenching of low-energy E1 transition by coupling to the Isovector Giant Dipole Resonance, a general reduction of the M1 transitions between quasiparticle configurations caused by coupling to the scissors mode is suggested.

A pair of transverse wobbling bands has been observed in the nucleus $^{135}$Pr. The wobbling is characterized by $Delta I$ =1, E2 transitions between the bands, and a decrease in the wobbling energy confirms its transverse nature. Additionally, a tr ansition from transverse wobbling to a three-quasiparticle band comprised of strong magnetic dipole transitions is observed. These observations conform well to results from calculations with the Tilted Axis Cranking (TAC) model and the Quasiparticle Triaxial Rotor (QTR) Model.
The $g$-factor and static quadrupole moment for the wobbling mode in the nuclide $^{133}$La are investigated as functions of the spin $I$by employing the particle rotor model. The model can reproduce the available experimental data of $g$-factor and static quadrupole moment. The properties of the $g$-factor and static quadrupole moment as functions of $I$ are interpreted by analyzing the angular momentum geometry of the collective rotor, proton-particle, and total nuclear system. It is demonstrated that the experimental value of the $g$-factor at the bandhead of the yrast band leads to the conclusion that the rotor angular momentum is $Rsimeq 2$. Furthermore, the variation of the $g$-factor with the spin $I$ yields the information that the angular momenta of the proton-particle and total nuclear system are oriented parallel to each other. The negative values of the static quadrupole moment over the entire spin region are caused by an alignment of the total angular momentum mainly along the short axis. Static quadrupole moment differences between the wobbling and yrast band originate from a wobbling excitation with respect to the short axis.
New rotational bands built on the $ u$$(h_{11/2})$ configuration have been identified in $^{105}$Pd. Two bands built on this configuration show the characteristics of transverse wobbling: the $Delta$$I$=1 transitions between them have a predominant E 2 component and the wobbling energy decreases with increasing spin. The properties of the observed wobbling bands are in good agreement with theoretical results obtained using constrained triaxial covariant density functional theory and quantum particle rotor model calculations. This provides the first experimental evidence for transverse wobbling bands based on a one-neutron configuration, and also represents the first observation of wobbling motion in the $A$$sim$100 mass region.

The relativistic proton-neutron quasiparticle random phase approximation (PN-RQRPA) is applied in the calculation of total muon capture rates on a large set of nuclei from $^{12}$C to $^{244}$Pu, for which experimental values are available. The micro scopic theoretical framework is based on the Relativistic Hartree-Bogoliubov (RHB) model for the nuclear ground state, and transitions to excited states are calculated using the PN-RQRPA. The calculation is fully consistent, i.e., the same interactions are used both in the RHB equations that determine the quasiparticle basis, and in the matrix equations of the PN-RQRPA. The calculated capture rates are sensitive to the in-medium quenching of the axial-vector coupling constant. By reducing this constant from its free-nucleon value $g_A = 1.262$ by 10% for all multipole transitions, the calculation reproduces the experimental muon capture rates to better than 10% accuracy.
We report the first observation of two wobbling bands in $^{183}$Au, both of which were interpreted as the transverse wobbling (TW) band but with different behavior of their wobbling energies as a function of spin. It increases (decreases) with spin for the positive (negative) parity configuration. The crucial evidence for the wobbling nature of the bands, dominance of the $E2$ component in the $Delta I = 1$ transitions between the partner bands, is provided by the simultaneous measurements of directional correlation from the oriented states (DCO) ratio and the linear polarization of the $gamma$ rays. Particle rotor model calculations with triaxial deformation reproduce the experimental data well. A value of spin, $I_m$, has been determined for the observed TW bands below which the wobbling energy increases and above which it decreases with spin. The nucleus $^{183}$Au is, so far, the only nucleus in which both the increasing and the decreasing parts are observed and thus gives the experimental evidence of the complete transverse wobbling phenomenon.
