We prove unique continuation properties for solutions of the evolution Schrodinger equation with time dependent potentials. As an application of our method we also obtain results concerning the possible concentration profiles of blow up solutions and the possible profiles of the traveling waves solutions of semi-linear Schrodinger equations.

Consider a bounded solution of the focusing, energy-critical wave equation that does not scatter to a linear solution. We prove that this solution converges in some weak sense, along a sequence of times and up to scaling and space translation, to a s um of solitary waves. This result is a consequence of a new general compactness/rigidity argument based on profile decomposition. We also give an application of this method to the energy-critical Schrodinger equation.
We study the stability of traveling waves of nonlinear Schrodinger equation with nonzero condition at infinity obtained via a constrained variational approach. Two important physical models are Gross-Pitaevskii (GP) equation and cubic-quintic equatio n. First, under a non-degeneracy condition we prove a sharp instability criterion for 3D traveling waves of (GP), which had been conjectured in the physical literature. This result is also extended for general nonlinearity and higher dimensions, including 4D (GP) and 3D cubic-quintic equations. Second, for cubic-quintic type sub-critical or critical nonlinearity, we construct slow traveling waves and prove their nonlinear instability in any dimension. For traveling waves without vortices (i.e. nonvanishing) of general nonlinearity in any dimension, we find the sharp condition for linear instability. Third, we prove that any 2D traveling wave of (GP) is transversally unstable and find the sharp interval of unstable transversal wave numbers. Near unstable traveling waves of above cases, we construct unstable and stable invariant manifolds.
We find new quantitative estimates on the space-time analyticity of solutions to linear parabolic equations with analytic coefficients near the initial time. We apply the estimates to obtain observability inequalities and null-controllability of parabolic evolutions over measurable sets.

This paper concerns about the weak unique continuation property of solutions of a general system of differential equation/inequality with a second order strongly elliptic system as its leading part. We put not only some natural assumption which calle d {sl basic assumptions}, but also some technical assumptions which we called {sl further assumptions}. It is shown as usual by first applying the Holmgren transform to this inequality and then establishing a Carleman estimate for the leading part of the transformed inequality. The Carleman estimate given via a partition of unity and Carleman estimate for the operator with constant coefficients obtained by freezing the coefficients of the transformed leading part at a point. A little more details about this are as follows. Factorize this operator with constant coefficients into two first order differential operators. Conjugate each factor by a Carleman weight and derive an estimate which is uniform with respect to the point at which we froze the coefficients for each conjugated factor by constructing a parametrix for its adjoint operator.
We prove unique continuation principles for solutions of evolution Schrodinger equations with time dependent potentials. These correspond to uncertainly principles of Paley-Wiener type for the Fourier transform. Our results extends to a large class of semi-linear Schrodinger equation.
