Three dimensional continuous and discrete Fourier-like transforms, based on the three simple and four semisimple compact Lie groups of rank 3, are presented. For each simple Lie group, there are three families of special functions ($C$-, $S$-, and $E$-functions) on which the transforms are built. Pertinent properties of the functions are described in detail, such as their orthogonality within each family, when integrated over a finite region $F$ of the 3-dimensional Euclidean space (continuous orthogonality), as well as when summed up over a lattice grid $F_Msubset F$ (discrete orthogonality). The positive integer $M$ sets up the density of the lattice containing $F_M$. The expansion of functions given either on $F$ or on $F_M$ is the papers main focus.

S-expansions of three-dimensional real Lie algebras are considered. It is shown that the expansion operation allows one to obtain a non-unimodular Lie algebra from a unimodular one. Nevertheless S-expansions define no ordering on the variety of Lie algebras of a fixed dimension.
We consider two intimately related statistical mechanical problems on $mathbb{Z}^3$: (i) the tricritical behaviour of a model of classical unbounded $n$-component continuous spins with a triple-well single-spin potential (the $|varphi|^6$ model), and (ii) a random walk model of linear polymers with a three-body repulsion and two-body attraction at the tricritical theta point (critical point for the collapse transition) where repulsion and attraction effectively cancel. The polymer model is exactly equivalent to a supersymmetric spin model which corresponds to the $n=0$ version of the $|varphi|^6$ model. For the spin and polymer models, we identify the tricritical point, and prove that the tricritical two-point function has Gaussian long-distance decay, namely $|x|^{-1}$. The proof is based on an extension of a rigorous renormalisation group method that has been applied previously to analyse the $|varphi|^4$ and weakly self-avoiding walk models on $mathbb{Z}^4$.
In this paper, we seek analytically checkable necessary and sufficient condition for copositivity of a three-dimensional symmetric tensor. We first show that for a general third order three-dimensional symmetric tensor, this means to solve a quartic equation and some quadratic equations. All of them can be solved analytically. Thus, we present an analytical way to check copositivity of a third order three dimensional symmetric tensor. Then, we consider a model of vacuum stability for $mathbb{Z}_3$ scalar dark matter. This is a special fourth order three-dimensional symmetric tensor. We show that an analytically expressed necessary and sufficient condition for this model bounded from below can be given, by using a result given by Ulrich and Watson in 1994.
The discrete cosine and sine transforms are generalized to a triangular fragment of the honeycomb lattice. The honeycomb point sets are constructed by subtracting the root lattice from the weight lattice points of the crystallographic root system $A_ 2$. The two-variable orbit functions of the Weyl group of $A_2$, discretized simultaneously on the weight and root lattices, induce a novel parametric family of extended Weyl orbit functions. The periodicity and von Neumann and Dirichlet boundary properties of the extended Weyl orbit functions are detailed. Three types of discrete complex Fourier-Weyl transforms and real-valued Hartley-Weyl transforms are described. Unitary transform matrices and interpolating behaviour of the discrete transforms are exemplified. Consequences of the developed discrete transforms for transversal eigenvibrations of the mechanical graphene model are discussed.
We find a relationship between the dynamics of the Gaussian wave packet and the dynamics of the corresponding Gaussian Wigner function from the Hamiltonian/symplectic point of view. The main result states that the momentum map corresponding to the na tural action of the symplectic group on the Siegel upper half space yields the covariance matrix of the corresponding Gaussian Wigner function. This fact, combined with Kostants coadjoint orbit covering theorem, establishes a symplectic/Poisson-geometric connection between the two dynamics. The Hamiltonian formulation naturally gives rise to corrections to the potential terms in the dynamics of both the wave packet and the Wigner function, thereby resulting in slightly different sets of equations from the conventional classical ones. We numerically investigate the effect of the correction term and demonstrate that it improves the accuracy of the dynamics as an approximation to the dynamics of expectation values of observables.
