We review all the BeppoSAX results relative to the search for additional nonthermal components in the spectra of clusters of galaxies. In particular, our MECS data analysis of A2199 does not confirm the presence of the nonthermal excess reported by Kaastra et al. (1999). A new observation of A2256 seems to indicate quite definitely that the nonthermal fluxes detected in Coma and A2256 are due to a diffuse nonthermal mechanism involving the intracluster medium. We report marginal evidence (~3sigma) for a nonthermal excess in A754 and A119, but the presence of point sources in the field of view of the PDS makes unlikely a diffuse interpretation.

The high energy experiment PDS is one of the Narrow Field Instruments aboard the X-ray astronomy satellite BeppoSAX. It covers the energy band from 15 to 300 keV. Here we report results on its in-flight performance and observations of galactic and extragalactic X-ray sources obtained during the Science Verification Phase of the satellite: in particular Crab, Cen X-3, 4U1626-67 and PKS2155-305.
In this contribution we discuss briefly a few calibration items relevant to the data analysis and present some preliminary scientific results. The discussion on instrumental topics focuses on the response matrix and Point Spread Function (PSF). In the scientific results section we discuss a first analysis of the two Seyferts MCG 6-30-15 and NGC 4151 and of the Cosmic X-ray Background.

We present results of a complete radio follow-up obtained with the VLA and ATCA radio telescopes down to a 6 cm flux limit of about 0.3 mJy of all the 147 X-ray sources detected in the BeppoSAX HELLAS survey. We found 53 X-ray/radio likely associations, corresponding to about one third of the X-ray sample. Using the two point spectral index alpha_ro=0.35 we divided all the HELLAS X-ray sources in radio quiet and radio loud. We have 26 sources classified as radio-loud objects, corresponding to about 18% of the HELLAS sample. In agreement with previous results, the identified radio-loud sources are associated mainly with Type 1 AGNs with L(5-10 keV) > 10^44 erg/s, while all the identified Type 2 AGNs and Emission Line Galaxies are radio quiet objects with L(5-10 keV) < 10^44 erg/s. The analysis of the radio spectral index suggests that Type 1 AGNs have a mean radio spectral index flatter than Type 2 AGNs and Emission Line Galaxies.
The Fermi Gamma-ray Space Telescope (Fermi) was launched on June 11, 2008 and began its first year sky survey on August 11, 2008. The Large Area Telescope (LAT), a wide field-of-view pair-conversion telescope covering the energy range from 20 MeV to more than 300 GeV, is the primary instrument on Fermi. While this review focuses on results obtained with the LAT, the Gamma-ray Burst Monitor (GBM) complements the LAT in its observations of transient sources and is sensitive to X-rays and gamma-rays with energies between 8 keV and 40 MeV. During the first year in orbit, the Fermi LAT has observed a large number of sources that include active galaxies, pulsars, compact binaries, globular clusters, supernova remnants, as well as the Sun, the Moon and the Earth. The GBM and LAT together have uncovered surprising characteristics in the high-energy emission of gamma-ray bursts (GRBs) that have been used to set significant new limits on violations of Lorentz invariance. The Fermi LAT has also made important new measurements of the Galactic diffuse radiation and has made precise measurements of the spectrum of cosmic-ray electrons and positrons from 20 GeV to 1 TeV.

We report recent results of high-pt measurements in Pb--Pb collisions at $sqrt{s_{NN}}=2.76$ TeV by the ALICE experiment and discuss the implications in terms of energy loss of energetic partons in the strongly interaction medium formed in the collisions.
