In this work, we characterize the amount of steerability present in quantum theory by connecting the maximal violation of a steering inequality to an inclusion problem of free spectrahedra. In particular, we show that the maximal violation of an arbitrary unbiased dichotomic steering inequality is given by the inclusion constants of the matrix cube, which is a well-studied object in convex optimization theory. This allows us to find new upper bounds on the maximal violation of steering inequalities and to show that previously obtained violations are optimal. In order to do this, we prove lower bounds on the inclusion constants of the complex matrix cube, which might be of independent interest. Finally, we show that the inclusion constants of the matrix cube and the matrix diamond are the same. This allows us to derive new bounds on the amount of incompatibility available in dichotomic quantum measurements in fixed dimension.

We construct steering inequalities which exhibit unbounded violation. The concept was to exploit the relationship between steering violation and uncertainty relation. To this end we apply mutually unbiased bases and anti-commuting observables, known to exibit the strongest uncertainty. In both cases, we are able to procure unbounded violations. Our approach is much more constructive and transparent than the operator space theory approach employed to obtain large violation of Bell inequalities. Importantly, using anti-commuting observables we are able to obtain a {it dichotomic} steering inequality with unbounded violation. So far there is no analogous result for Bell inequalities. Interestingly, both the dichotomic inequality and one of our inequalities can not be directly obtained from existing uncertainty relations, which strongly suggest the existence of an unknown kind of uncertainty relation.

In recent papers, the theory of representations of finite groups has been proposed to analyzing the violation of Bell inequalities. In this paper, we apply this method to more complicated cases. For two partite system, Alice and Bob each make one of $d$ possible measurements, each measurement has $n$ outcomes. The Bell inequalities based on the choice of two orbits are derived. The classical bound is only dependent on the number of measurements $d$, but the quantum bound is dependent both on $n$ and $d$. Even so, when $d$ is large enough, the quantum bound is only dependent on $d$. The subset of probabilities for four parties based on the choice of six orbits under group action is derived and its violation is described. Restricting the six orbits to three parties by forgetting the last party, and guaranteeing the classical bound invariant, the Bell inequality based on the choice of four orbits is derived. Moreover, all the corresponding nonlocal games are analyzed.

We show that it is possible to find maximal violations of the CHSH-Bell inequality using only position measurements on a pair of entangled non-relativistic free particles. The device settings required in the CHSH inequality are done by choosing one of two times at which position is measured. For different assignments of the + outcome to positions, namely to an interval, to a half line, or to a periodic set, we determine violations of the inequalities, and states where they are attained. These results have consequences for the hidden variable theories of Bohm and Nelson, in which the two-time correlations between distant particle trajectories have a joint distribution, and hence cannot violate any Bell inequality.

Last years, bounds on the maximal quantum violation of general Bell inequalities were intensively discussed in the literature via different mathematical tools. In the present paper, we analyze quantum violation of general Bell inequalities via the LqHV (local quasi hidden variable) modelling framework, correctly reproducing the probabilistic description of every quantum correlation scenario. The LqHV mathematical framework allows us to derive for all d and N a new upper bound (2d-1)^{N-1} on the maximal violation by an N-qudit state of all general Bell inequalities, also, new upper bounds on the maximal violation by an N-qudit state of general Bell inequalities for S settings per site. These new upper bounds essentially improve all the known precise upper bounds on quantum violation of general multipartite Bell inequalities. For some S, d and N, the new upper bounds are attainable.
We introduce the general class of symmetric two-qubit states guaranteeing the perfect correlation or anticorrelation of Alice and Bob outcomes whenever some spin observable is measured at both sites. We prove that, for all states from this class, the maximal violation of the original Bell inequality is upper bounded by 3/2 and specify the two-qubit states where this quantum upper bound is attained. The case of two-qutrit states is more complicated. Here, for all two-qutrit states, we obtain the same upper bound 3/2 for violation of the original Bell inequality under Alice and Bob spin measurements, but we have not yet been able to show that this quantum upper bound is the least one. We discuss experimental consequences of our mathematical study.
