This work develops a quantitative homogenization theory for random suspensions of rigid particles in a steady Stokes flow, and completes recent qualitative results. More precisely, we establish a large-scale regularity theory for this Stokes problem, and we prove moment bounds for the associated correctors and optimal estimates on the homogenization error; the latter further requires a quantitative ergodicity assumption on the random suspension. Compared to the corresponding quantitative homogenization theory for divergence-form linear elliptic equations, substantial difficulties arise from the analysis of the fluid incompressibility and the particle rigidity constraints. Our analysis further applies to the problem of stiff inclusions in (compressible or incompressible) linear elasticity and in electrostatics; it is also new in those cases, even in the periodic setting.

This work is devoted to the asymptotic behavior of eigenvalues of an elliptic operator with rapidly oscillating random coefficients on a bounded domain with Dirichlet boundary conditions. A sharp convergence rate is obtained for isolated eigenvalues towards eigenvalues of the homogenized problem, as well as a quantitative two-scale expansion result for eigenfunctions. Next, a quantitative central limit theorem is established for eigenvalue fluctuations; more precisely, a pathwise characterization of eigenvalue fluctuations is obtained in terms of the so-called homogenization commutator, in parallel with the recent fluctuation theory for the solution operator.
Motivated by Hilberts 16th problem we discuss the probabilities of topological features of a system of random homogeneous polynomials. The distribution for the polynomials is the Kostlan distribution. The topological features we consider are type-$W$ singular loci. This is a term that we introduce and that is defined by a list of equalities and inequalities on the derivatives of the polynomials. In technical terms a type-$W$ singular locus is the set of points where the jet of the Kostlan polynomials belongs to a semialgebraic subset $W$ of the jet space, which we require to be invariant under orthogonal change of variables. For instance, the zero set of polynomial functions or the set of critical points fall under this definition. We will show that, with overwhelming probability, the type-$W$ singular locus of a Kostlan polynomial is ambient isotopic to that of a polynomial of lower degree. As a crucial result, this implies that complicated topological configurations are rare. Our results extend earlier results from Diatta and Lerario who considered the special case of the zero set of a single polynomial. Furthermore, for a given polynomial function $p$ we provide a deterministic bound for the radius of the ball in the space of differentiable functions with center $p$, in which the $W$-singularity structure is constant.

This work is devoted to the definition and the analysis of the effective viscosity associated with a random suspension of small rigid particles in a steady Stokes fluid. While previous works on the topic have been conveniently assuming that particles are uniformly separated, we relax this restrictive assumption in form of mild moment bounds on interparticle distances.

This paper is devoted to establishing the uniform estimates and asymptotic behaviors of the Greens functions $(G_varepsilon,Pi_varepsilon)$ (and fundamental solutions $(Gamma_varepsilon, Q_varepsilon)$) for the Stokes system with periodically oscillating coefficients (including a system of linear incompressible elasticity). Particular emphasis will be placed on the new oscillation estimates for the pressure component $Pi_varepsilon$. Also, for the first time we prove the textit{adjustable} uniform estimates (i.e., Lipschitz estimate for velocity and oscillation estimate for pressure) by making full use of the Greens functions. Via these estimates, we establish the asymptotic expansions of $G_varepsilon, abla G_varepsilon, Pi_varepsilon$ and more, with a tiny loss on the errors. Some estimates obtained in this paper are new even for Stokes system with constant coefficients, and possess potential applications in homogenization of Stokes or elasticity system.
Consider a linear elliptic partial differential equation in divergence form with a random coefficient field. The solution-operator displays fluctuations around itsexpectation. The recently-developed pathwise theory of fluctuations in stochastic homogenization reduces the characterization of these fluctuations to those of the so-called standard homogenization commutator. In this contribution, we investigate the scaling limit of this key quantity: starting from a Gaussian-like coefficient field with possibly strong correlations, we establish the convergence of the rescaled commutator to a fractional Gaussian field, depending on the decay of correlations of the coefficient field, and we investigate the (non)degeneracy of the limit. This extends to general dimension $dge 1$ previous results so far limited to dimension $d=1$.
