We compute the $O(alpha_s)$ corrections to the Wilson coefficients of the dimension five operators in inclusive semileptonic $B$ decays in the limit of a massless final quark. Our calculation agrees with reparameterization invariance and with previous results for the total width and places constraints on the shape functions that enter those decays.

The leptonic radiative decay $B to gamma l u$ is of great importance in the determination of $B$ meson wave functions, and evaluating the form factors $ F_{V,A}$ are the essential problem on the study of this channel. We computed next-to-leading power corrections to the form factors within the framework of PQCD approach, including the power suppressed hard kernel, the contribution from a complete set of three-particle $B$ meson wave functions up to twist-4 and two-particle off light-cone wave functions, the $1/m_b$ corrections in heavy quark effective theory, and the contribution from hadronic structure of photon. In spite of large theoretical uncertainties, the overall power suppressed contributions decreases about $50%$ of the leading power result. The $lambda_B$ dependence of the integrated branching ratio is reduced after including the subleading power contributions, thus the power corrections lead to more ambiguity in the determination of $lambda_B$ from $B to gamma l u$ decay.
We evaluate long-distance electromagnetic (QED) contributions to $bar{B}{}^0 to D^+ tau^{-} bar{ u}_{tau}$ and $B^- to D^0 tau^{-} bar{ u}_{tau}$ relative to $bar{B}{}^0 to D^+ mu^{-} bar{ u}_{mu}$ and $B^- to D^0 mu^{-} bar{ u}_{mu}$, respectively, in the standard model. We point out that the QED corrections to the ratios $R(D^{+})$ and $R(D^{0})$ are not negligible, contrary to the expectation that radiative corrections are almost canceled out in the ratio of the two branching fractions. The reason is that long-distance QED corrections depend on the masses and relative velocities of the daughter particles. We find that theoretical predictions for $R(D^{+})^{tau/mu}$ and $R(D^{0})^{tau/mu}$ can be amplified by $sim4%$ and $sim3%$, respectively, for the soft-photon energy cut in range $20$-$40$ MeV.
We comprehensively study the charged-Higgs contributions to the leptonic $B^-_q to ell bar u$ ($q=u,c$) and semileptonic $bar B to X_q ell bar u$ ($X_u=pi, rho; X_c=D,D^*$) decays in the type-III two-Higgs-doublet model (2HDM). We employ the Cheng-Sher ansatz to suppress the tree-level flavor-changing neutral currents (FCNCs) in the quark sector. When the strict constraints from the $Delta B=2$ and $bto s gamma$ processes are considered, parameters $chi^u_{tq}$ from the quark couplings and $chi^ell_ell$ from the lepton couplings dictate the leptonic and semileptonic $B$ decays. It is found that when the measured $B^-_uto tau bar u$ and indirect bound of $B^-_c to tau bar u$ obtained by LEP1 data are taken into account, $R(D)$ and $R(pi)$ can have broadly allowed ranges; however, the values of $R(rho)$ and $R(D^*)$ are limited to approximately the standard model (SM) results. We also find that the same behaviors also occur in the $tau$-lepton polarizations and forward-backward asymmetries ($A^{X_q,tau}_{FB}$) of the semileptonic decays, with the exception of $A^{D^*,tau}_{FB}$, for which the deviation from the SM due to the charged-Higgs effect is still sizable. In addition, the $q^2$-dependent $A^{pi,tau}_{FB}$ and $A^{D,tau}_{FB}$ can be very sensitive to the charged-Higgs effects and have completely different shapes from the SM.

In this paper we calculate the power corrections to the pion transition form factor within the framework of perturbative QCD approach on the basis of $k_T$ factorization. The power suppressed contributions from higher twist pion wave functions and the hadronic structure of photon are investigated. We find that there exists strong cancellation between the two kinds contributions, thus the total power corrections considered currently are very small, and the prediction of the leading power contribution with joint resummation improved perturbative QCD approach is almost unchanged. This result confirms that the pion transition form factor is a good platform to constrain the nonperturbative parameters in pion wave functions. Moreover, our result can accommodate the anomalous data from BaBar, or agrees with results from Belle according to the choice of Gegebauer moment in the pion wave function, and the more precise experimental data from Belle-II is expected.
We investigate the possibility of explaining the enhancement in semileptonic decays of $bar B to D^{(*)} tau bar u$, the anomalies induced by $bto smu^+mu^-$ in $bar Bto (K, K^*, phi)mu^+mu^-$ and violation of lepton universality in $R_K = Br(bar Bto K mu^+mu^-)/Br(bar Bto K e^+e^-)$ within the framework of R-parity violating (RPV) MSSM. Exchange of down type right-handed squark coupled to quarks and leptons yield interactions which are similar to leptoquark induced interactions that have been proposed to explain the $bar B to D^{(*)} tau bar u$ by tree level interactions and $bto s mu^+mu^-$ anomalies by loop induced interactions, simultaneously. However, the Yukawa couplings in such theories have severe constraints from other rare processes in $B$ and $D$ decays. Although this interaction can provide a viable solution to $R(D^{(*)})$ anomaly, we show that with the severe constraint from $bar B to K u bar u$, it is impossible to solve the anomalies in $bto s mu^+mu^-$ process simultaneously.
