We investigate the dynamical evolution of a parity-time ($mathcal{PT}$) symmetric extension of the Aubry-Andr{e} (AA) model, which exhibits the coincidence of a localization-delocalization transition point with a $mathcal{PT}$ symmetry breaking point. One can apply the evolution of the profile of the wave packet and the long-time survival probability to distinguish the localization regimes in the $mathcal{PT}$ symmetric AA model. The results of the mean displacement show that when the system is in the $mathcal{PT}$ symmetry unbroken regime, the wave-packet spreading is ballistic, which is different from that in the $mathcal{PT}$ symmetry broken regime. Furthermore, we discuss the distinctive features of the Loschmidt echo with the post-quench parameter being localized in different $mathcal{PT}$ symmetric regimes.

We propose a general analytic method to study the localization transition in one-dimensional quasicrystals with parity-time ($mathcal{PT}$) symmetry, described by complex quasiperiodic mosaic lattice models. By applying Avilas global theory of quasiperiodic Schrodinger operators, we obtain exact mobility edges and prove that the mobility edge is identical to the boundary of $mathcal{PT}$-symmetry breaking, which also proves the existence of correspondence between extended (localized) states and $mathcal{PT}$-symmetry ($mathcal{PT}$-symmetry-broken) states. Furthermore, we generalize the models to more general cases with non-reciprocal hopping, which breaks $mathcal{PT}$ symmetry and generally induces skin effect, and obtain a general and analytical expression of mobility edges. While the localized states are not sensitive to the boundary conditions, the extended states become skin states when the periodic boundary condition is changed to open boundary condition. This indicates that the skin states and localized states can coexist with their boundary determined by the mobility edges.
We investigate the wave packet dynamics for a one-dimensional incommensurate optical lattice with a special on-site potential which exhibits the mobility edge in a compactly analytic form. We calculate the density propagation, long-time survival probability and mean square displacement of the wave packet in the regime with the mobility edge and compare with the cases in extended, localized and multifractal regimes. Our numerical results indicate that the dynamics in the mobility-edge regime mix both extended and localized features which is quite different from that in the mulitfractal phase. We utilize the Loschmidt echo dynamics by choosing different eigenstates as initial states and sudden changing the parameters of the system to distinguish the phases in the presence of such system.
According to the topological band theory of a Hermitian system, the different electronic phases are classified in terms of topological invariants, wherein the transition between the two phases characterized by a different topological invariant is the primary signature of a topological phase transition. Recently, it has been argued that the delocalization-localization transition in a quasicrystal, described by the non-Hermitian $mathcal{PT}$-symmetric extension of the Aubry-Andr{e}-Harper (AAH) Hamiltonian can also be identified as a topological phase transition. Interestingly, the $mathcal{PT}$-symmetry also breaks down at the same critical point. However, in this article, we have shown that the delocalization-localization transition and the $mathcal{PT}$-symmetry breaking are not connected to a topological phase transition. To demonstrate this, we have studied the non-Hermitian $mathcal{PT}$-symmetric AAH Hamiltonian in the presence of Rashba Spin-Orbit (RSO) coupling. We have obtained an analytical expression of the topological transition point and compared it with the numerically obtained critical points. We have found that, except in some special cases, the critical point and the topological transition point are not the same. In fact, the delocalization-localization transition takes place earlier than the topological transition whenever they do not coincide.

We study a one-dimensional lattice model subject to non-Hermitian quasiperiodic potentials. Firstly, we strictly demonstrate that there exists an interesting dual mapping relation between $|a|<1$ and $|a|>1$ with regard to the potential tuning parameter $a$. The localization property of $|a|<1$ can be directly mapping to that of $|a|>1$, the analytical expression of the mobility edge of $|a|>1$ is therefore obtained through spectral properties of $|a|<1$. More impressive, we prove rigorously that even if the phase $theta eq 0$ in quasiperiodic potentials, the model becomes non-$mathcal{PT}$ symmetric, however, there still exists a new type of real-complex transition driven by non-Hermitian disorder, which is a new universality class beyond $mathcal{PT}$ symmetric class.
We study the dynamics of an electron subjected to a uniform electric field within a tight-binding model with long-range-correlated diagonal disorder. The random distribution of site energies is assumed to have a power spectrum $S(k) sim 1/k^{alpha}$ with $alpha > 0$. Moura and Lyra [Phys. Rev. Lett. {bf 81}, 3735 (1998)] predicted that this model supports a phase of delocalized states at the band center, separated from localized states by two mobility edges, provided $alpha > 2$. We find clear signatures of Bloch-like oscillations of an initial Gaussian wave packet between the two mobility edges and determine the bandwidth of extended states, in perfect agreement with the zero-field prediction.
