We study a model in $d = 2 + 1$ space-time dimensions with two sectors. One of them, which can be considered as the visible sector, contains just a $U(1)$ gauge field which acts as a probe for the other (hidden) sector, given by a second $U(1)$ gauge field and massive scalar and Dirac fermions. Covariant derivatives of these matter fields and a BF gauge mixing term couple the two sectors. Integration over fermion fields leads to an effective theory with Chern-Simons terms that support vortex like solutions in both sectors even if originally there was no symmetry breaking Higgs scalar in the visible sector. We study numerically the solutions which correspond to electrically charged magnetic vortices except for a critical value of the BF coupling constant at which solely purely magnetic vortices exist.

We study chiral phase transition and confinement of matter fields in (2+1)-dimensional U(1) gauge theory of massless Dirac fermions and scalar bosons. The vanishing scalar boson mass, $r=0$, defines a quantum critical point between the Higgs phase and the Coulomb phase. We consider only the critical point $r=0$ and the Coulomb phase with $r > 0$. The Dirac fermion acquires a dynamical mass when its flavor is less than certain critical value $N_{f}^{c}$, which depends quantitatively on the flavor $N_{b}$ and the scalar boson mass $r$. When $N_{f} < N_{f}^{c}$, the matter fields carrying internal gauge charge are all confined if $r eq 0$ but are deconfined at the quantum critical point $r = 0$. The system has distinct low-energy elementary excitations at the critical point $r=0$ and in the Coulomb phase with $r eq 0$. We calculate the specific heat and susceptibility of the system at $r=0$ and $r eq 0$, which can help to detect the quantum critical point and to judge whether dynamical fermion mass generation takes place.
We describe a web of well-known dualities connecting quantum field theories in $d=1+1$ dimensions. The web is constructed by gauging ${bf Z}_2$ global symmetries and includes a number of perennial favourites such as the Jordan-Wigner transformation, Kramers-Wannier duality, bosonization of a Dirac fermion, and T-duality. There are also less-loved examples, such as non-modular invariant $c=1$ CFTs that depend on a background spin structure.
We determine the Feynman rules for the minimal type A higher-spin gauge theory on AdS$_{d+1}$ at cubic order. In particular, we establish the quantum action at cubic order in de Donder gauge, including ghosts. We also give the full de Donder gauge propagators of higher-spin gauge fields and their ghosts. This provides all ingredients needed to quantise the theory at cubic order.
We propose a neutrinophilic two Higgs doublet model with hidden local $U(1)$ symmetry, where active neutrinos are Dirac type, and a fermionic DM candidate is naturally induced as a result of remnant symmetry even after the spontaneous symmetry breaking. In addition, a physical Goldstone boson is arisen as a consequence of two types of gauge singlet bosons and contributes to the DM phenomenologies as well as additional neutral gauge boson. Then we will analyze the relic density of DM within the safe range of direct detection searches, and show the allowed region of dark matter mass.
In the paper, within the background field method, the renormalization and the gauge dependence is studied as for an SU(2) Yang-Mills theory with multiplets of spinor and scalar fields. By extending the quantum action of the BV-formalism with an extra fermion vector field and a constant fermion parameter, the multiplicative character of the renormalizability is proven. The renormalization of all the physical parameters of the theory under consideration is shown to be gauge-independent.
