We show that the spectral flow of a one-parameter family of Schrodinger operators on a metric graph is equal to the Maslov index of a path of Lagrangian subspaces describing the vertex conditions. In addition, we derive an Hadamard-type formula for the derivatives of the eigenvalue curves via the Maslov crossing form.
We consider Schrodinger operators with periodic electric and magnetic potentials on periodic discrete graphs. The spectrum of such operators consists of an absolutely continuous (a.c.) part (a union of a finite number of non-degenerate bands) and a finite number of eigenvalues of infinite multiplicity. We prove the following results: 1) the a.c. spectrum of the magnetic Schrodinger operators is empty for specific graphs and magnetic fields; 2) we obtain necessary and sufficient conditions under which the a.c. spectrum of the magnetic Schrodinger operators is empty; 3) the spectrum of the magnetic Schrodinger operator with each magnetic potential $talpha$, where $t$ is a coupling constant, has an a.c. component for all except finitely many $t$ from any bounded interval.
The present work aims at obtaining estimates for transformation operators for one-dimensional perturbed radial Schrodinger operators. It provides more details and suitable extensions to already existing results, that are needed in other recent contributions dealing with these kinds of operators.
We consider Schroedinger operators on regular metric trees and prove Lieb-Thirring and Cwikel-Lieb-Rozenblum inequalities for their negative eigenvalues. The validity of these inequalities depends on the volume growth of the tree. We show that the bounds are valid in the endpoint case and reflect the correct order in the weak or strong coupling limit.
Using a unified approach employing a homogeneous Lippmann-Schwinger-type equation satisfied by resonance functions and basic facts on Riesz potentials, we discuss the absence of threshold resonances for Dirac and Schrodinger operators with sufficiently short-range interactions in general space dimensions. More specifically, assuming a sufficient power law decay of potentials, we derive the absence of zero-energy resonances for massless Dirac operators in space dimensions $n geq 3$, the absence of resonances at $pm m$ for massive Dirac operators (with mass $m > 0$) in dimensions $n geq 5$, and recall the well-known case of absence of zero-energy resonances for Schrodinger operators in dimension $n geq 5$.
In this note we investigate complete non-selfadjointness for all maximally dissipative extensions of a Schrodinger operator on a half-line with dissipative bounded potential and dissipative boundary condition. We show that all maximally dissipative extensions that preserve the differential expression are completely non-selfadjoint. However, it is possible for maximally dissipative extensions to have a one-dimensional reducing subspace on which the operator is selfadjoint. We give a characterisation of these extensions and the corresponding subspaces and present a specific example.
