In this paper, we investigate the pointwise behavior of the solution for the compressible Navier-Stokes equations with mixed boundary condition in half space. Our results show that the leading order of Greens function for the linear system in half space are heat kernels propagating with sound speed in two opposite directions and reflected heat kernel (due to the boundary effect) propagating with positive sound speed. With the strong wave interactions, the nonlinear analysis exhibits the rich wave structure: the diffusion waves interact with each other and consequently, the solution decays with algebraic rate.

In this paper, the asymptotic-time behavior of solutions to an initial boundary value problem in the half space for 1-D isentropic Navier-Stokes system is investigated. It is shown that the viscous shock wave is stable for an impermeable wall problem where the velocity is zero on the boundary provided that the shock wave is initially far away from the boundary. Moreover, the strength of shock wave could be arbitrarily large. This work essentially improves the result of [A. Matsumura, M. Mei, Convergence to travelling fronts of solutions of the p-system with viscosity in the presence of a boundary, Arch. Ration. Mech. Anal., 146(1): 1-22, 1999], where the strength of shock wave is sufficiently small.

For incompressible Navier-Stokes equations, Necas-Ruzicka-Sverak proved that self-similar solution has to be zero in 1996. Further, Yang-Yang-Wu find symmetry property plays an important role in the study of ill-posedness. In this paper, we consider two types of symmetry property. We search special symmetric and uniform analytic functions to approach the solution and establish global uniform analytic and symmetric solution with initial value in general symmetric Fourier-Herz space. For two kinds of symmetry of initial data, we prove that the solution has also the same symmetric structure. Further, we prove that the uniform analyticity is equivalent to the convolution inequality on Herz spaces. By these ways, we can use symmetric and uniform analytic functions to approximate the solution.

In this paper we study a finite-depth layer of viscous incompressible fluid in dimension $n ge 2$, modeled by the Navier-Stokes equations. The fluid is assumed to be bounded below by a flat rigid surface and above by a free, moving interface. A uniform gravitational field acts perpendicularly to the flat surface, and we consider the cases with and without surface tension acting on the free interface. In addition to these gravity-capillary effects, we allow for a second force field in the bulk and an external stress tensor on the free interface, both of which are posited to be in traveling wave form, i.e. time-independent when viewed in a coordinate system moving at a constant velocity parallel to the rigid lower boundary. We prove that, with surface tension in dimension $n ge 2$ and without surface tension in dimension $n=2$, for every nontrivial traveling velocity there exists a nonempty open set of force and stress data that give rise to traveling wave solutions. While the existence of inviscid traveling waves is well known, to the best of our knowledge this is the first construction of viscous traveling wave solutions. Our proof involves a number of novel analytic ingredients, including: the study of an over-determined Stokes problem and its under-determined adjoint, a delicate asymptotic development of the symbol for a normal-stress to normal-Dirichlet map defined via the Stokes operator, a new scale of specialized anisotropic Sobolev spaces, and the study of a pseudodifferential operator that synthesizes the various operators acting on the free surface functions.

In this paper, we study a free boundary problem for compressible spherically symmetric Navier-Stokes equations without a solid core. Under certain assumptions imposed on the initial data, we obtain the global existence and uniqueness of the weak solution, give some uniform bounds (with respect to time) of the solution and show that it converges to a stationary one as time tends to infinity. Moreover, we obtain the stabilization rate estimates of exponential type in $L^infty$-norm and weighted $H^1$-norm of the solution by constructing some Lyapunov functionals. The results show that such system is stable under the small perturbations, and could be applied to the astrophysics.

In this article, we establish sufficient conditions for the regularity of solutions of Navier-Stokes equations based on one of the nine entries of the gradient tensor. We improve the recently results of C.S. Cao, E.S. Titi (Arch. Rational Mech.Anal. 202 (2011) 919-932) and Y. Zhou, M. Pokorn$acute{y}$ (Nonlinearity 23, 1097-1107 (2010)).
