Fibonacci anyons are non-Abelian particles for which braiding is universal for quantum computation. Reichardt has shown how to systematically generate nontrivial braids for three Fibonacci anyons which yield unitary operations with off-diagonal matrix elements that can be made arbitrarily small in a particular natural basis through a simple and efficient iterative procedure. This procedure does not require brute force search, the Solovay-Kitaev method, or any other numerical technique, but the phases of the resulting diagonal matrix elements cannot be directly controlled. We show that despite this lack of control the resulting braids can be used to systematically construct entangling gates for two qubits encoded by Fibonacci anyons.

We introduce and analyze a dispersive qubit readout scheme where two-mode squeezing is generated directly in the measurement cavities. The resulting suppression of noise enables fast, high- fidelity readout of naturally weakly coupled qubits, and the possibility to protect strongly coupled qubits from decoherence by weakening their coupling. Unlike other approaches exploiting squeezing, our setup avoids the difficult task of transporting and injecting with high fidelity an externally-generated squeezed state. Our setup is also surprisingly robust against unwanted non-QND backaction effects, as interference naturally suppresses Purcell decay: the system acts as its own Purcell filter. Our setup is compatible with the experimental state-of-the-art in circuit QED systems, but the basic idea could also be realized in other systems.
We predict the existence of a novel interaction-induced spatial localization in a periodic array of qubits coupled to a waveguide. This localization can be described as a quantum analogue of a self-induced optical lattice between two indistinguishable photons, where one photon creates a standing wave that traps the other photon. The localization is caused by the interplay between on-site repulsion due to the photon blockade and the waveguide-mediated long-range coupling between the qubits.

It is known that protocols based on weak measurements can be used to steer quantum systems into pre-designated pure states. Here we show that weak-measurement-based steering protocols can be harnessed for on-demand engineering of $textit{mixed}$ states. In particular, through a continuous variation of the protocol parameters, one can guide a classical target state to a discorded one, and further on, towards an entangled target state.

In this paper, by utilizing the idea of stabilizer codes, we give some relationships between one local unitary representation of braid group in N-qubit tensor space and the corresponding entanglement properties of the N-qubit pure state $|Psirangle$, where the N-qubit state $|Psirangle$ is obtained by applying the braiding operation on the natural basis. Specifically, we show that the separability of $|Psirangle=mathcal{B}|0rangle^{otimes N}$ is closely related to the diagrammatic version of the braid operator $mathcal{B}$. This may provide us more insights about the topological entanglement and quantum entanglement.

We report the first complete characterization of single-qubit and two-qubit gate fidelities in silicon-based spin qubits, including cross-talk and error correlations between the two qubits. To do so, we use a combination of standard randomized benchmarking and a recently introduced method called character randomized benchmarking, which allows for more reliable estimates of the two-qubit fidelity in this system. Interestingly, with character randomized benchmarking, the two-qubit CPhase gate fidelity can be obtained by studying the additional decay induced by interleaving the CPhase gate in a reference sequence of single-qubit gates only. This work sets the stage for further improvements in all the relevant gate fidelities in silicon spin qubits beyond the error threshold for fault-tolerant quantum computation.
