The electric resistance between two arbitrary nodes on any infinite lattice structure of resistors that is a periodic tiling of space is obtained. Our general approach is based on the lattice Greens function of the Laplacian matrix associated with the network. We present several non-trivial examples to show how efficient our method is. Deriving explicit resistance formulas it is shown that the Kagome, the diced and the decorated lattice can be mapped to the triangular and square lattice of resistors. Our work can be extended to the random walk problem or to electron dynamics in condensed matter physics.

Let K_4^3-2e denote the hypergraph consisting of two triples on four points. For an integer n, let t(n, K_4^3-2e) denote the smallest integer d so that every 3-uniform hypergraph G of order n with minimum pair-degree delta_2(G) geq d contains floor{n/4} vertex-disjoint copies of K_4^3-2e. Kuhn and Osthus proved that t(n, K_4^3-2e) = (1 + o(1))n/4 holds for large integers n. Here, we prove the exact counterpart, that for all sufficiently large integers n divisible by 4, t(n, K_4^3-2e) = n/4 when n/4 is odd, and t(n, K_4^3-2e) = n/4+1 when n/4 is even. A main ingredient in our proof is the recent `absorption technique of Rodl, Rucinski and Szemeredi.
We study the holomorphic extension associated with power series, i.e., the analytic continuation from the unit disk to the cut-plane $mathbb{C} setminus [1,+infty)$. Analogous results are obtained also in the study of trigonometric series: we establish conditions on the series coefficients which are sufficient to guarantee the series to have a KMS analytic structure. In the case of power series we show the connection between the unique (Carlsonian) interpolation of the coefficients of the series and the Laplace transform of a probability distribution. Finally, we outline a procedure which allows us to obtain a numerical approximation of the jump function across the cut starting from a finite number of power series coefficients. By using the same methodology, the thermal Green functions at real time can be numerically approximated from the knowledge of a finite number of noisy Fourier coefficients in the expansion of the thermal Green functions along the imaginary axis of the complex time plane.

We consider similarity solutions of the generalized convection-diffusion-reaction equation with both space- and time-dependent convection, diffusion and reaction terms. By introducing the similarity variable, the reaction-diffusion equation is reduced to an ordinary differential equation. Matching the resulting ordinary differential equation with known exactly solvable equations, one can obtain corresponding exactly solvable convection-diffusion-reaction systems. Some representative examples of exactly solvable systems are presented. We also describe how an equivalent convection-diffusion-reaction system can be constructed which admits the same similarity solution of another convection-diffusion-reaction system.
We present results on the ballistic and diffusive behavior of the Langevin dynamics in a periodic potential that is driven away from equilibrium by a space-time periodic driving force, extending some of the results obtained by Collet and Martinez. In the hyperbolic scaling, a nontrivial average velocity can be observed even if the external forcing vanishes in average. More surprisingly, an average velocity in the direction opposite to the forcing may develop at the linear response level -- a phenomenon called negative mobility. The diffusive limit of the non-equilibrium Langevin dynamics is also studied using the general methodology of central limit theorems for additive functionals of Markov processes. To apply this methodology, which is based on the study of appropriate Poisson equations, we extend recent results on pointwise estimates of the resolvent of the generator associated with the Langevin dynamics. Our theoretical results are illustrated by numerical simulations of a two-dimensional system.

Understanding the asymptotic behavior of physical quantities in the thermodynamic limit is a fundamental problem in statistical mechanics. In this paper, we study how fast the eigenstate expectation values of a local operator converge to a smooth function of energy density as the system size diverges. In translationally invariant systems in any spatial dimension, we prove that for all but a measure zero set of local operators, the deviations of finite-size eigenstate expectation values from the aforementioned smooth function are lower bounded by $1/O(N)$, where $N$ is the system size. The lower bound holds regardless of the integrability or chaoticity of the model, and is tight in systems satisfying the eigenstate thermalization hypothesis.
