It is claimed that elliptic flow, ridge and alignment are effects of azimuthal asymmetry, which have a common origin evolving with primary energy and stemming from the general structure of field-theoretical matrix elements. It interrelates a new ridge-phenomenon, recently found at the LHC and RHIC, with known coplanarity feature observed in collider jet physics as well as in cosmic ray studies.

We analyse a possible connection between CP violations in the quark and lepton sectors, parametrised by the CKM and PMNS phases. If one assumes that CP breaking arises from complex Yukawa couplings, both in the quark and lepton sectors, the above connection is not possible in general, since Yukawa couplings in the two sectors have independent flavour structures. We show that both the CKM and PMNS phases can instead be generated by a vacuum phase in a class of two Higgs doublet models, and in this case a connection may be established. This scenario requires the presence of scalar FCNC at tree level, both in the quark and lepton sectors. The appearance of these FCNC is an obstacle and a blessing. An obstacle since one has to analyse which models are able to conform to the strict experimental limits on FCNC, both in the quark and lepton sectors. A blessing, because this class of models is falsifiable since FCNC arise at a level which can be probed experimentally in the near future, specially in the processes $hto e^pmtau^mp$ and $tto h c$. The connection between CP violations in CKM and PMNS is explicitely illustrated in models with Minimal Flavour Violation.
We predict a new effect due to the presence of the global vorticity in non-central relativistic heavy-ion collisions, namely a splitting of the elliptic flow parameter $v_2$ at non-zero rapidity. The size of the splitting is proposed as a new observable that can be used to constrain the initial vortical configuration of the produced QCD matter in experiments. The new findings are demonstrated by numerical calculations employing the parton cascade model, Boltzmann Approach of MultiParton Scatterings (BAMPS), for non-central Au + Au collisions at $sqrt{s_{NN}} = 200 GeV$.

We consider the thermal production of dileptons and photons at temperatures above the critical temperature in QCD. We use a model where color excitations are suppressed by a small value of the Polyakov loop, the semi Quark-Gluon Plasma (QGP). Comparing the semi-QGP to the perturbative QGP, we find a mild enhancement of thermal dileptons. In contrast, to leading logarithmic order in weak coupling there are far fewer hard photons from the semi-QGP than the usual QGP. To illustrate the possible effects on photon and dileptons production in heavy ion collisions, we integrate the rate with a realistic hydrodynamic simulation. Dileptons uniformly exhibit a small flow, but the strong suppression of photons in the semi-QGP tends to bias the elliptical flow of photons to that generated in the hadronic phase.
Transverse spherocity is an event shape observable, which has got a unique capability to separate the events based on their geometrical shapes. In this work, we use transverse spherocity to study the identified light flavor production in heavy-ion collisions using A Multi-Phase Transport (AMPT) model. We obtain the elliptic flow coefficients for pions, kaons and protons in Pb-Pb collisions at $sqrt{s_{rm{NN}}} = 5.02$ TeV as a function of transverse spherocity and collision centrality. Also, we study the number of constituent-quark (NCQ) scaling of elliptic flow which interprets the dominance of the quark degrees of freedom at early stages of the collision. We observe a clear dependence of the elliptic flow for identified particles on transverse spherocity. It is found that the NCQ-scaling is strongly violated in events with low transverse spherocity compared to transverse spherocity-integrated events.
We propose a model of asymmetric dark matter (DM) where the dark sector is an identical copy of both forces and matter of the standard model (SM) as in the mirror universe models discussed in literature. In addition to being connected by gravity, the SM and DM sectors are also connected at high temperature by a common set of heavy right-handed Majorana neutrinos via their Yukawa couplings to leptons and Higgs bosons. The lightest nucleon in the dark (mirror) sector is a candidate for dark matter. The out of equilibrium decay of right-handed neutrino produces equal lepton asymmetry in both sectors via resonant leptogenesis which then get converted to baryonic and dark baryonic matter. The dark baryon asymmetry due to higher dark nucleon masses leads to higher dark matter density compared to the familiar baryon density that is observed. The standard model neutrinos in this case acquire masses from the inverse seesaw mechanism. A kinetic mixing between the U(1) gauge fields of the two sectors is introduced to guarantee the success of Big-Bang Nucleosynthesis.
