We study the dynamics of the superconducting order parameter in the high-$T_c$ cuprate Bi$_2$Sr$_2$CaCu$_2$O$_{8-delta}$ by employing a novel time-resolved pump-probe Raman experiment. We find two different coupling mechanisms that contribute equally to the pair breaking peak. One coupling sets in very fast at 2ps and relaxes slow, while the other one is delayed and sets in roughly at 5ps and relaxes fast. A model that couples holes through phonons is able to reproduce one part of the condensate dynamics, thus, we argue that hole-spin interactions are of importance as well.

We present a ^{115}In NMR study of the quasi two-dimensional heavy-fermion superconductor CeCoIn_5 believed to host a Fulde-Ferrel-Larkin-Ovchinnkov (FFLO) state. In the vicinity of the upper critical field and with a magnetic field applied parallel to the ab-plane, the NMR spectrum exhibits a dramatic change below T*(H) which well coincides with the position of reported anomalies in specific heat and ultrasound velocity. We argue that our results provide the first microscopic evidence for the occurrence of a spatially modulated superconducting order parameter expected in a FFLO state. The NMR spectrum also implies an anomalous electronic structure of vortex cores.
Sr$_2$RuO$_4$ has stood as the leading candidate for a spin-triplet superconductor for 26 years. Recent NMR experiments have cast doubt on this candidacy, however, and it is difficult to find a theory of superconductivity that is consistent with all experiments. What is needed are symmetry-based experiments that can rule out broad classes of possible superconducting order parameters. Here we use resonant ultrasound spectroscopy to measure the entire symmetry-resolved elastic tensor of Sr$_2$RuO$_4$ through the superconducting transition. We observe a thermodynamic discontinuity in the shear elastic modulus $c_{66}$, requiring that the superconducting order parameter is two-component. A two-component $p$-wave order parameter, such as $p_x+i p_y$, naturally satisfies this requirement. As this order parameter appears to be precluded by recent NMR experiments, we suggest that two other two-component order parameters, namely $left{d_{xz},d_{yz}right}$ or $left{d_{x^2-y^2},g_{xy(x^2-y^2)}right}$, are now the prime candidates for the order parameter of Sr$_2$RuO$_4$.

The quasi-2D metal Sr$_2$RuO$_4$ is one of the best characterized unconventional superconductors, yet the nature of its superconducting order parameter is still highly debated. This information is crucial to determine the pairing mechanism of Cooper pairs. Here we use ultrasound velocity to probe the superconducting state of Sr$_2$RuO$_4$. This thermodynamic probe is symmetry-sensitive and can help to identify the superconducting order symmetry. Indeed, we observe a sharp jump in the shear elastic constant $c_{66}$ as the temperature is raised across the superconducting transition at $T_c$. This directly implies that the superconducting order parameter is of a two-component nature. Based on symmetry argument and given the other known properties of Sr$_2$RuO$_4$, we discuss what states are compatible with this requirement and propose that the two-component order parameter, namely $lbrace d_{xz}; d_{yz} rbrace$, is the most likely candidate.
We report Raman scattering spectra for single crystals of overdoped Tl2Ba2CuO6+d (Tl-2201) at low temperatures. It was observed that the pair-breaking peaks in A1g and B1g spectra radically shift to lower energy with carrier doping. We interpret it as s-wave component mixing into d-wave, although the crystal structure is tetragonal. Since similar phenomena were observed also in YBa2Cu3Oy and Bi2Sr2CaCu2Oz, we conclude that s-wave mixing is a common property for overdoped high-Tc superconductors.
We report $^{75}$As nuclear quadrupole resonance (NQR) studies on superconducting oxypnictide LaFeAsO$_{0.92}$F$_{0.08}$ ($T_{rm c}$ = 23 K). The temperature dependence of the spin lattice relaxation rate (1/$T_1$) decreases below $T_{rm c}$ without a coherence (Hebel-Slichter) peak and shows a temperature dependence that is not simple power-law nor exponential. We show that the result can be understood in terms of two superconducting gaps of either $d$- or ${pm}s$-wave symmetry, with the larger gap $Delta_1sim 4 k_{rm B}T_{rm c}$ and the smaller one $Delta_2 sim 1.5 k_{rm B}T_{rm c}$. Our result suggests that the multiple-gaps feature is universal in the oxypnictides superconductors, which is probably associated with the multiple electronic bands structure in this new class of materials. We also find that 1/$T_1T$ above $T_{rm c}$ increases with decreasing temperature, which suggests weak magnetic fluctuations in the normal state.
