The first fully integrated explicit exact solution of the Einstein field equations corresponding to the superposition of a counterrotating dust disk with a central black hole is presented. The obtained solution represents an infinite annular thin disk (a disk with an inner edge) around the Schwarszchild black hole. The mass of the disk is finite and the energy-momentum tensor agrees with all the energy conditions. Furthermore, the total mass of the disk when the black hole is present is less than the total mass of the disk alone. The solution can also be interpreted as describing a thin disk made of two counterrotanting dust fluids that are also in agreement with all the energy conditions. Additionally, as we will show shortly in a subsequent paper, the above solution is the first one of an infinite family of solutions.

We present results from calculations of the orbital evolution in eccentric binaries of nonrotating black holes with extreme mass-ratios. Our inspiral model is based on the method of osculating geodesics, and is the first to incorporate the full gravitational self-force (GSF) effect, including conservative corrections. The GSF information is encapsulated in an analytic interpolation formula based on numerical GSF data for over a thousand sample geodesic orbits. We assess the importance of including conservative GSF corrections in waveform models for gravitational-wave searches.
We present the first numerical construction of the scalar Schwarzschild Green function in the time-domain, which reveals several universal features of wave propagation in black hole spacetimes. We demonstrate the trapping of energy near the photon sphere and confirm its exponential decay. The trapped wavefront propagates through caustics resulting in echoes that propagate to infinity. The arrival times and the decay rate of these caustic echoes are consistent with propagation along null geodesics and the large l-limit of quasinormal modes. We show that the four-fold singularity structure of the retarded Green function is due to the well-known action of a Hilbert transform on the trapped wavefront at caustics. A two-fold cycle is obtained for degenerate source-observer configurations along the caustic line, where the energy amplification increases with an inverse power of the scale of the source. Finally, we discuss the tail piece of the solution due to propagation within the light cone, up to and including null infinity, and argue that, even with ideal instruments, only a finite number of echoes can be observed. Putting these pieces together, we provide a heuristic expression that approximates the Green function with a few free parameters. Accurate calculations and approximations of the Green function are the most general way of solving for wave propagation in curved spacetimes and should be useful in a variety of studies such as the computation of the self-force on a particle.

We study linear gravitational perturbations of Schwarzschild spacetime by solving numerically Regge-Wheeler-Zerilli equations in time domain using hyperboloidal surfaces and a compactifying radial coordinate. We stress the importance of including the asymptotic region in the computational domain in studies of gravitational radiation. The hyperboloidal approach should be helpful in a wide range of applications employing black hole perturbation theory.
As one of the fitting methods, the polynomial approximation is effective to process sophisticated problem. In this paper, we employ this approach to handle the scattering of scalar field around the Schwarzschild-de Sitter black-hole. The complex relationship between tortoise coordinate and radial coordinate is replaced by the approximate polynomial. The Schr$ddot{o}$dinger-like equation, the real boundary conditions and the polynomial approximation construct a full Sturm-Liouville type problem. Then this boundary value problem can be solved numerically according to two limiting cases: the first one is the Nariai black-hole whose horizons are close to each other, the second one is when the horizons are widely separated. Compared with previous results (Brevik and Tian), the field near the event horizon and cosmological horizon can have a better description.
We study the optical appearance of a thin accretion disk around a Schwarzschild black hole pierced by a cosmic string with a semi-analytic method of Luminet [11]. Direct and secondary images with different parameters observed by a distant observer is plotted. The cosmic string parameter s can modify the shape and size of the thin disk image. We calculate and plot the distribution of both redshift and observed flux as seen by distant observers at different inclination angles. Those distributions are dependent on the inclination angel of the observer and cosmic parameter s.
