We study the t-J-$V$ model beyond mean field level at finite doping on the triangular lattice. The Coulomb repulsion $V$ between nearest neighbors brings the system to a charge ordered state for $V$ larger than a critical value $V_c$. One-particle spectral properties as self-energy, spectral functions and the quasiparticle weight are studied near and far from the charge ordered phase. When the system approaches the charge ordered state, charge fluctuations become soft and they strongly influence the system leading to incoherent one-particle excitations. Possible implications for cobaltates are given.
In our previous work [arXiv:1803.00999, Phys. Rev. Lett. 121, 046401 (2018)], we found a quantum spin liquid phase with a spinon Fermi surface in the two dimensional spin-1/2 Heisenberg model with four-spin ring exchange on a triangular lattice. In this work we dope the spinon Fermi surface phase by studying the $t$-$J$ model with four-spin ring exchange. We perform density matrix renormalization group calculations on four-leg cylinders of a triangular lattice and find that the dominant pair correlation function is that of a pair density wave; i.e., it is oscillatory while decaying with distance with a power law. The doping dependence of the period is studied. This is the first example where pair density wave is the dominant pairing in a generic strongly interacting system where the pair density wave cannot be explained as a composite order and no special symmetry is required.
We develop a systematic strong coupling approach for studying an extended t-V model with interactions of a finite range. Our technique is not based on the Bethe ansatz and is applicable to both integrable and non-integrable models. We illustrate our technique by presenting analytic results for the ground state energy (up to order 7 in t/V), the current density and density-density correlations for integrable and non-integrable models with commensurate filling factors. We further present preliminary numerical results for incommensurate non-integrable models.
We have studied the energy spectrum of a one-dimensional Kondo lattice, where the localized magnetic moments have SU(N) symmetry and two channels of conduction electrons are present. At half filling, the system is shown to exist in two phases: one dominated by RKKY-exchange interaction effects, and the other by Kondo screening. A quantum phase transition point separates these two regimes at temperature $T = 0$. The Kondo-dominated phase is shown to possess soft modes, with spectral gaps much smaller than the Kondo temperature.
We present a spin-rotation-invariant Green-function theory for the dynamic spin susceptibility in the spin-1/2 antiferromagnetic t-J Heisenberg model on the honeycomb lattice. Employing a generalized mean-field approximation for arbitrary temperatures and hole dopings, the electronic spectrum of excitations, the spin-excitation spectrum and thermodynamic quantities (two-spin correlation functions, staggered magnetization, magnetic susceptibility, correlation length) are calculated by solving a coupled system of self-consistency equations for the correlation functions. The temperature and doping dependence of the magnetic (uniform static) susceptibility is ascribed to antiferromagnetic short-range order. Our results on the doping dependencies of the magnetization and susceptibility are analyzed in comparison with previous results for the t_J model on the square lattice.
The one-dimensional extended t-V model of fermions on a lattice is a model with repulsive interactions of finite range that exhibits a transition between a Luttinger liquid conducting phase and a Mott insulating phase. It is known that by tailoring the potential energy of the insulating system, one can force a phase transition into another insulating phase. We show how to construct all possible charge-density-wave phases of the system at low critical densities in the atomic limit. Higher critical densities are investigated by a brute-force analysis of the possible finite unit cells of the Fock states.
