The ring operations and the metric on $C(X)$ are extended to the set $mathbb{H}_{nf}(X)$ of all nearly finite Hausdorff continuous interval valued functions and it is shown that $mathbb{H}_{nf}(X)$ is both rationally and topologically complete. Hence, the rings of quotients of $C(X)$ as well as their metric completions are represented as rings of Hausdorff continuous functions.

The well-known Baker-Campbell-Hausdorff theorem in Lie theory says that the logarithm of a noncommutative product e X e Y can be expressed in terms of iterated commutators of X and Y. This paper provides a gentle introduction t{o} Ecalles mould calculus and shows how it allows for a short proof of the above result, together with the classical Dynkin explicit formula [Dy47] for the logarithm, as well as another formula recently obtained by T. Kimura [Ki17] for the product of exponentials itself. We also analyse the relation between the two formulas and indicate their mould calculus generalization to a product of more exponentials.
Let G be a finite group, (g_{1},...,g_{r}) an (unordered) r-tuple of G^{(r)} and x_{i,g_i}s variables that correspond to the g_is, i=1,...,r. Let F<x_{1,g_1},...,x_{r,g_r}> be the corresponding free G-graded algebra where F is a field of zero characteristic. Here the degree of a monomial is determined by the product of the indices in G. Let I be a G-graded T-ideal of F<x_{1,g_1},...,x_{r,g_r}> which is PI (e.g. any ideal of identities of a G-graded finite dimensional algebra is of this type). We prove that the Hilbert series of F<x_{1,g_1},...,x_{r,g_r}>/I is a rational function. More generally, we show that the Hilbert series which corresponds to any g-homogeneous component of F<x_{1,g_1},...,x_{r,g_r}>/I is a rational function.

Let $R$ be the associative $k$-algebra generated by two elements $x$ and $y$ with defining relation $yx=1$. A complete description of simple modules over $R$ is obtained by using the results of Irving and Gerritzen. We examine the short exact sequence $0rightarrow Urightarrow E rightarrow Vrightarrow 0$, where $U$ and $V$ are simple $R$-modules. It shows that nonsplit extension only occurs when both $U$ and $V$ are one-dimensional, or, under certain condition, $U$ is infinite-dimensional and $V$ is one-dimensional.

We study factorizations of rational matrix functions with simple poles on the Riemann sphere. For the quadratic case (two poles) we show, using multiplicative representations of such matrix functions, that a good coordinate system on this space is given by a mix of residue eigenvectors of the matrix and its inverse. Our approach is motivated by the theory of discrete isomonodromic transformations and their relationship with difference Painleve equations. In particular, in these coordinates, basic isomonodromic transformations take the form of the discrete Euler-Lagrange equations. Secondly we show that dPV equations, previously obtained in this context by D. Arinkin and A. Borodin, can be understood as simple relationships between the residues of such matrices and their inverses.
We obtain the exact value of the Hausdorff dimension of the set of coefficients of Gauss sums which for a given $alpha in (1/2,1)$ achieve the order at least $N^{alpha}$ for infinitely many sum lengths $N$. For Weyl sums with polynomials of degree $dge 3$ we obtain a new upper bound on the Hausdorff dimension of the set of polynomial coefficients corresponding to large values of Weyl sums. Our methods also work for monomial sums, match the previously known lower bounds, just giving exact value for the corresponding Hausdorff dimension when $alpha$ is close to $1$. We also obtain a nearly tight bound in a similar question with arbitrary integer sequences of polynomial growth.
