Comparison of the Effects of Celecoxib and Ibuprofen on Pain Control after the Surgical Placement of Dental Implants

Abstract in English

Surgical placement of dental implants may cause a certain degree of pain and discomfort to some patients. Conventional nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs have been widely used in the control of postoperative pain, but sparse information is available about the efficacy of celecoxib, a selective cyclooxygenase-2 inhibitor, after surgical placement of dental implants. The aim of this study was to compare the analgesic efficacy of celecoxib and ibuprofen on pain control after the surgical placement of dental implants .
