Studying the effects of socioeconomic variables on the adherence to Mediterranean Diet in Syrian population


Abstract in English

The Mediterranean Diet is a healthy diet which protects from many diseases, but many factors could affect the adherence and vary from country to country. The purpose of this study is to assess the adherence to Mediterranean Diet of the sample, then studying the economic and social factors and lifestyle which affect the adherence to Mediterranean diet. The sample was composed of 1000 people (516) women (484) men aged from 18-65 years from all the economic and social levels, they filled a semi-quantitative food frequency questionnaire. we used the SPSS program.
