Abstract in English

This study aimed to define the relationship between autonomy needs and concept of the self among faculty of education students in AI-Baath university, and whether there differences between males and females in achieving autonomy needs in concept of the self and its subsidiary effects. The sample of the studying consisted of (184) students (80) males and 104 females), had been selected randomly among students in faculty of education in Baath university "Homs".The researcher used the measurement of autonomy needs, prepared by researcher and concept of the self prepared by Maria Hamed.The researcher used the following statistical methods: arithmetic mean, standard deviation, Pearson Correlation Coefficient and t- student test.
