Performance and Correlations of Vegetative Growth, Yield and its Components in Five Cultivars of Radish

Abstract in English

This study was carried out at AL-Rasheedia Agricultural Research Station ,Ninevah, to evaluate five radish cultivars, during fall seasons (1997-1998) and (1998-1999) . Results showed significant differences among the different cultivars. The cultivar Black (Rabeea) was superior to other cultivars in number of leaves/ plant, root diameter, weight, and total yield /donum, which were 11.81, 9.22 (cm), 382.91 (gram), and 11.67 ton/ donum respectivelly. The April Cross cultivar gave the highest root length and foliar weight. Significant correlation was observed between cultivars. Yield was significantly correlated with root weight, number of leaves per plant and foliar weight. The root weight was positively correlated with its diameter, and number of leaves per plant.
