The aim of this study is to investigate the role of parents in monitoring and guiding their children while using the media of violentsubstance, specifically movies, television and computer games, as well as their role in supplying children with skills to deal with the media in order to understand the media material that surrounds them, to well-selectand handle, and to effectivelyparticipate in order to reach a future plan which included developing the capabilities and skills of parents in dealing with children and guide their behavior in the media to protect them from the risk of media content.To achieve this purpose,a questionnaire was designed to students aged between 13 and 14 years and the study sample consisted of 40 male and female students from the elementary school in the village of Kessabeen and a school in the Arab Almelk subsidiaries of the city of Jableh. The respondents were requested to answer a number of questions that determined the formatrepresented by the degree of consumption of the media with violent scenes, taking into account the family environment around them. Results of the study showed the importance of the role of parents in media education for their childrenand also emphasized the importance of the educational level of the parents in organizing and disciplining the child's behavior with media in order to develop methods of critical thinking and strengthen learning skills in research and analysis of all that is displayed through the media. The study results through a set of recommendations and proposals that could be considered helpful to the people in the upbringing of their children and the media, which could also contribute to access to the strong relationship between parents and children.
