A necessary and sufficient condition in order that a (diagonalizable) pseudohermitian operator admits an antilinear symmetry T such that T^{2}=-1 is proven. This result can be used as a quick test on the T-invariance properties of pseudohermitian Hamiltonians, and such test is indeed applied, as an example, to the Mashhoon-Papini Hamiltonian.

The ability to simulate one Hamiltonian with another is an important primitive in quantum information processing. In this paper, a simulation method for arbitrary $sigma_z otimes sigma_z$ interaction based on Hadamard matrices (quant-ph/9904100) is generalized for any pairwise interaction. We describe two applications of the generalized framework. First, we obtain a class of protocols for selecting an arbitrary interaction term in an n-qubit Hamiltonian. This class includes the scheme given in quant-ph/0106064v2. Second, we obtain a class of protocols for inverting an arbitrary, possibly unknown n-qubit Hamiltonian, generalizing the result in quant-ph/0106085v1.
We report on the experimental investigation of the fluctuation properties in the resonance frequency spectra of a flat resonator simulating a dissipative quantum billiard subject to partial time-reversal invariance violation (TIV) which is induced by two magnetized ferrites. The cavity has the shape of a quarter bowtie billiard of which the corresponding classical dynamics is chaotic. Due to dissipation it is impossible to identify a complete list of resonance frequencies. Based on a random-matrix theory approach we derive analytical expressions for statistical measures of short- and long-range correlations in such incomplete spectra interpolating between the cases of preserved time-reversal invariance and complete TIV and demonstrate their applicability to the experimental spectra.
We show that appropriate superpositions of motional states are a reference frame resource that enables breaking of time -reversal superselection so that two parties lacking knowledge about the others direction of time can still communicate. We identify the time-reversal reference frame resource states and determine the corresponding frameness monotone, which connects time-reversal frameness to entanglement. In contradistinction to other studies of reference frame quantum resources, this is the first analysis that involves an antiunitary rather than unitary representation.
Time reversal invariance violating (TRIV) effects for low energy elastic neutron deuteron scattering are calculated for meson exchange and EFT-type of TRIV potentials in a Distorted Wave Born Approximation, using realistic hadronic strong interaction wave functions, obtained by solving three-body Faddeev equations in configuration space. The relation between TRIV and parity violating observables are discussed.
We formulate a set of conditions under which dynamics of a time-dependent quantum Hamiltonian are integrable. The main requirement is the existence of a nonabelian gauge field with zero curvature in the space of system parameters. Known solvable multistate Landau-Zener models satisfy these conditions. Our method provides a strategy to incorporate time-dependence into various quantum integrable models, so that the resulting non-stationary Schrodinger equation is exactly solvable. We also validate some prior conjectures, including the solution of the driven generalized Tavis-Cummings model.
