We calculate the cross sections for the direct hadroproduction of J/psi and Upsilon associated with a heavy-quark pair of the same flavour at leading order in alpha_S and v in NRQCD. These processes provide an interesting signature that could be studied at the Tevatron and the LHC and also constitute a gauge-invariant subset of the NLO corrections to the inclusive hadroproduction of J/psi and Upsilon. We find that the fragmentation approximation commonly used to evaluate the contribution of these processes to the inclusive quarkonium production sizeably underestimates the exact calculation in the kinematical region accessible at the Tevatron. Both J/psi and Upsilon are predicted to be unpolarised, independently of their transverse momentum.

I study the direct hadroproduction of Jpsi associated with a charm-quark pair at leading order in alpha_S and v in NRQCD. This process provides an interesting signature that could be studied at the Tevatron. I consider both colour-singlet and colour-octet transitions. I compare our results to the fragmentation approximation and discuss the associated experimental signatures.
We analyze contributions to the heavy vector meson production with large transverse momentum in proton--proton and diffractive photon--proton scattering driven by an exchange of two Balitsky--Fadin--Kuraev--Lipatov Pomerons in the squared amplitudes. The Pomerons couple to a single parton and form a Pomeron loop closed by the vector meson impact factors. For the photon--proton case the diffractive cut of the Pomeron loop contributes, and for the inclusive hadroproduction one finds the loop with two cut Pomerons. We compute both of these Pomeron loop contributions and study in detail their properties. The results are then used to calculate the cross sections for diffractive $J/psi$ photoproduction with large transverse momentum at HERA and the correlated two Pomeron contribution for inclusive $J/psi$ and $Upsilon$ production cross sections at the LHC. Within a unified approach a good description of the photoproduction data is found, but correlated two Pomeron mechanism gives only a small contribution to hadroproduction of the vector mesons at the LHC.
Motivated by a recent successful dynamical explanation for the newly observed fully-charm structure $X(6900)$ in the mass spectrum of di-$J/psi$ by LHCb [J.~Z.~Wang textit{et al.} arXiv:2008.07430], in this work, we extend the same dynamical rescattering mechanism to predict the line shape of more potential fully-heavy structures in the invariant mass spectrum of $J/psi psi(3686)$, $J/psi psi(3770)$, $psi(3686) psi(3686)$, and $J/psi Upsilon(1S)$ at high energy proton-proton collisions, whose verification in experiments should be helpful to further clarify the nature of $X(6900)$. The above final states of vector heavy quarkonia can be experimentally reconstructed more effectively by a $mu^+mu^-$ pair in the muon detector compared with $Qbar{Q}$ meson with other quantum numbers. Furthermore, the corresponding peak mass positions of each of predicted fully-heavy structures are also given. Our theoretical studies here could provide some valuable information for the future measurement proposals of LHCb and CMS, especially based on the accumulated data after completing Run III of LHC in the near future.
We study lepto- and hadroproduction of a heavy-quark pair in the ITMD factorization framework for dilute-dense collisions. Due to the presence of a nonzero quark mass and/or nonzero photon virtuality, new contributions appear compared to the cases of photo- and hadroproduction of dijets, for which the ITMD framework was originally derived. The extra terms are sensitive to gluons that are not fully linearly polarized. At small $x$ those gluons emerge only when saturation effects are taken into account, and in a proper way. As a result, in linear small-$x$ frameworks where gluon are fully linearly polarized, such contributions are absent. We show however that they are not always negligible, even for large gluon transverse momentum, due to the behavior of the off-shell hard factors.

In this work, we investigate the prompt $J/psi$ production in associated with top quark pair to leading order in the nonrelativistic QCD factorization formalism at the LHC with $sqrt{s} =13$ TeV. In addition to the contribution from direct $J/psi$ production, we also include the indirect contribution from the directly produced heavier charmmonia $chi_{cJ}$ and $psi^prime$. We present the numerical results for the total and differential cross sections and find that the $sideset{^3}{^{(8)}_1}{mathop{{S}}}$ states give the dominant contributions. The prompt $tbar t J/psi$ signatures at the LHC are analyzed in the tetralepton channel $ppto (tto W^+(ell^+ u)b) (bar t to W^-(ell^- bar u)bar b) (J/psitomu^+mu^-)$ and trilepton channel $ppto (tto W(q q^prime)b) ( t to W(ell u) b) (J/psitomu^+mu^-)$, with the $J/psi$ mesons decaying into muon pair, and the top quarks decaying leptonically or hadronically. We find that $tbar t J/psi$ proudction can be potentially detected at the LHC, whose measurement is useful to test the heavy quarkonium production mechanism.
