We apply Ginzburg-Landau theory to determine BCS pairing in a strongly-coupled uniform superfluid of three-flavor massless quarks in flavor equilibrium. We elucidate the phase diagram near the critical temperature in the space of the parameters characterizing the thermodynamic potential terms of fourth order in the pairing gap. Within the color and flavor antisymmetric channel with zero total angular momentum, the phase diagram contains an isoscalar (IS) color-antitriplet phase and a color-flavor-locked (CFL) phase, reached by a second order transition from the normal state, as well as states reached by a first order transition. We complement the general Ginzburg-Landau approach by deriving the high-density asymptotic form of the Ginzburg-Landau free energy from the weak-coupling gap equation. The dynamically-screened, long-range color magnetic interactions are taken into account in solving the gap equation. We find that in the limit of weak coupling, the IS phase is less favorable near the transition temperature than the CFL phase. In view of the fact that deconfined quark matter must be color charge neutral, we incorporate the constraint of overall color neutrality into the Ginzburg-Landau theory and the gap equation. This constraint yields a disparity in the chemical potential between colors and reduces the size of the gap, in the presence of the anisotropy of the order parameters in color space. In comparison with the case in which there are no chemical potential differences between colors and hence the superfluid generally has nonzero net color charge, we find that while the constraint of color neutrality has only negligible effects on the gap in the weak coupling regime, it appreciably destabilizes the IS phase in the strong coupling regime without affecting the CFL phase.

We show that the pseudogap of the quark density of states is formed in hot quark matter as a precursory phenomenon of the color superconductivity on the basis of a low-energy effective theory. We clarify that the decaying process of quarks near Fermi surface to a hole and the diquark soft mode (qq)_{soft} is responsible for the formation of the pseudogap. Our result suggests that the pseudogap is a universal phenomenon in strong coupling superconductors.
We present numerical studies of the dynamics of vortices in the Ginzburg Landau model using equations derived from the gradient flow of the free energy. These equations have previously been proposed to describe the dynamics of n-vortices away from equilibrium. We are able to model the dynamics of multiple n-vortex configurations starting far from equilibrium. We find generically that there are two time scales for equilibration: a short time scale related to the formation time for a single n-vortex, and a longer time scale that characterizes vortex-vortex interactions.
We calculate the dimensionless Fermi liquid parameters (FLPs), $F_{0,1}^{sym}$ and $F_{0,1}^{asym}$, for spin asymmetric dense quark matter. In general, the FLPs are infrared divergent due to the exchange of massless gluons. To remove such divergences, the Hard Density Loop (HDL) corrected gluon propagator is used. The FLPs so determined are then invoked to calculate magnetic properties such as magnetization $langle Mrangle$ and magnetic susceptibility $chi_M$ of spin polarized quark matter. Finally, we investigate the possibility of magnetic instability by studying the density dependence of $langle Mrangle$ and $chi_M$.

In the Ginzburg-Landau theory of superfluid $^{3}$He, the free energy is expressed as an expansion of invariants of a complex order parameter. Strong coupling effects, which increase with increasing pressure, are embodied in the set of coefficients of these order parameter invariantscite{Leg75,Thu87}. Experiments can be used to determine four independent combinations of the coefficients of the five fourth order invariants. This leaves the phenomenological description of the thermodynamics near $T_{c}$ incomplete. Theoretical understanding of these coefficients is also quite limited. We analyze our measurements of the magnetic susceptibility and the NMR frequency shift in the $B$-phase which refine the four experimental inputs to the phenomenological theory. We propose a model based on existing experiments, combined with calculations by Sauls and Serenecite{Sau81} of the pressure dependence of these coefficients, in order to determine all five fourth order terms. This model leads us to a better understanding of the thermodynamics of superfluid $^{3}$He in its various states. We discuss the surface tension of bulk superfluid $^{3}$He and predictions for novel states of the superfluid such as those that are stabilized by elastic scattering of quasiparticles from a highly porous silica aerogel.
Under holographic prescription for Schwinger-Keldysh closed time contour for non-equilibrium system, we consider fluctuation effect of the order parameter in a holographic superconductor model. Near the critical point, we derive the time-dependent Ginzburg-Landau effective action governing dynamics of the fluctuating order parameter. In a semi-analytical approach, the time-dependent Ginzburg-Landau action is computed up to quartic order of the fluctuating order parameter, and first order in time derivative.
