We investigate the wave-packet dynamics of the power-law bond disordered one-dimensional Anderson model with hopping amplitudes decreasing as $H_{nm}propto |n-m|^{-alpha}$. We consider the critical case ($alpha=1$). Using an exact diagonalization scheme on finite chains, we compute the participation moments of all stationary energy eigenstates as well as the spreading of an initially localized wave-packet. The eigenstates multifractality is characterized by the set of fractal dimensions of the participation moments. The wave-packet shows a diffusive-like spread developing a power-law tail and achieves a stationary non-uniform profile after reflecting at the chain boundaries. As a consequence, the time-dependent participation moments exhibit two distinct scaling regimes. We formulate a finite-size scaling hypothesis for the participation moments relating their scaling exponents to the ones governing the return probability and wave-function power-law decays.

We analyze the scattering properties of a periodic one-dimensional system at criticality represented by the so-called power-law banded random matrix model at the metal insulator transition. We focus on the scaling of Wigner delay times $tau$ and resonance widths $Gamma$. We found that the typical values of $tau$ and $Gamma$ (calculated as the geometric mean) scale with the system size $L$ as $tau^{tiny typ}propto L^{D_1}$ and $Gamma^{tiny typ} propto L^{-(2-D_2)}$, where $D_1$ is the information dimension and $D_2$ is the correlation dimension of eigenfunctions of the corresponding closed system.
We reveal the generic characteristics of wave packet delocalization in two-dimensional nonlinear disordered lattices by performing extensive numerical simulations in two basic disordered models: the Klein-Gordon system and the discrete nonlinear Schr{o}dinger equation. We find that in both models (a) the wave packets second moment asymptotically evolves as $t^{a_m}$ with $a_m approx 1/5$ ($1/3$) for the weak (strong) chaos dynamical regime, in agreement with previous theoretical predictions [S.~Flach, Chem.~Phys.~{bf 375}, 548 (2010)], (b) chaos persists, but its strength decreases in time $t$ since the finite time maximum Lyapunov exponent $Lambda$ decays as $Lambda propto t^{alpha_{Lambda}}$, with $alpha_{Lambda} approx -0.37$ ($-0.46$) for the weak (strong) chaos case, and (c) the deviation vector distributions show the wandering of localized chaotic seeds in the lattices excited part, which induces the wave packets thermalization. We also propose a dimension-independent scaling between the wave packets spreading and chaoticity, which allows the prediction of the obtained $alpha_{Lambda}$ values.
We consider the localization properties of a lattice of coupled masses and springs with random mass and spring constant values. We establish the full phase diagrams of the system for pure mass and pure spring disorder. The phase diagrams exhibit regions of stable as well as unstable wave modes. The latter are of interest for the instantaneous-normal-mode spectra of liquids and the nascent field of acoustic metamaterials. We show the existence of delocalization-localization transitions throughout the phase diagram and establish, by high-precision numerical studies, that the universality of these transitions is of the Anderson type.
The transport of excitations between pinned particles in many physical systems may be mapped to single-particle models with power-law hopping, $1/r^a$. For randomly spaced particles, these models present an effective peculiar disorder that leads to surprising localization properties. We show that in one-dimensional systems almost all eigenstates (except for a few states close to the ground state) are power-law localized for any value of $a>0$. Moreover, we show that our model is an example of a new universality class of models with power-law hopping, characterized by a duality between systems with long-range hops ($a<1$) and short-range hops ($a>1$) in which the wave function amplitude falls off algebraically with the same power $gamma$ from the localization center.
We analyze the effects of disorder on the correlation functions of one-dimensional quantum models of fermions and spins with long-range interactions that decay with distance $ell$ as a power-law $1/ell^alpha$. Using a combination of analytical and numerical results, we demonstrate that power-law interactions imply a long-distance algebraic decay of correlations within disordered-localized phases, for all exponents $alpha$. The exponent of algebraic decay depends only on $alpha$, and not, e.g., on the strength of disorder. We find a similar algebraic localization for wave-functions. These results are in contrast to expectations from short-range models and are of direct relevance for a variety of quantum mechanical systems in atomic, molecular and solid-state physics.
