The Josephson current through a 1D quantum wire with Rashba spin-orbit and electron-electron interactions is calculated. We show that the interplay of Rashba and Zeeman interactions gives rise to a supercurrent through the 1D conductor that is anomalous in the sense that it persists in the absence of any phase difference between the two superconducting leads to which it is attached. The electron dispersion asymmetry induced by the Rashba interaction in a Luttinger-liquid wire plays a significant role for poorly transmitting junctions. It is shown that for a weak or moderate electron-electron interaction the spectrum of plasmonic modes confined to the normal part of the junction becomes quasi-random in the presence of dispersion asymmetry.

We study spin-orbital coupling effect on the Josephson current through a superconductor (SC) heterojunction, consisting of two s-wave superconductors and a two-dimensional electron gas (2DEG) layer between them. The Rashba-type (RSOC) and/or Dresselhaus-type (DSOC) of spin-orbital coupling are considered in the 2DEG region. By using the lattice Bogoliubov-de Gennes equation and the Keldysh formalism, we calculate the DC supercurrent flowing through the junction and find that the critical current $I_c$ exhibits a damped oscillation with both the strength of SOC and the layer length of 2DEG; especially, the strength ratio between RSOC and DSOC can also induce switching between the $0$ state and the $pi$ state of the SC/2DEG/SC junction as well. This $0$-$pi$ transition results from the fact that SOC in a two-dimension system can lead to a pseudo-magnetic effect on the flowing electrons like the effect of a ferromagnet, since the time reversal symmetry of the system has already been broken by two SC leads with different macroscopic phases.
We investigate the Josephson radiation emitted by a junction made of a quantum dot coupled to two conventional superconductors. Close to resonance, the particle-hole symmetric Andreev states that form in the junction are detached from the continuum above the superconducting gap in the leads, while a gap between them opens near the Fermi level. Under voltage bias, we formulate a stochastic model that accounts for non-adiabatic processes, which change the occupations of the Andreev states. This model allows calculating the current noise spectrum and determining the Fano factor. Analyzing the finite-frequency noise, we find that the model may exhibit either an integer or a fractional AC Josephson effect, depending on the bias voltage and the size of the gaps in the Andreev spectrum. Our results assess the limitations in using the fractional Josephson radiation as a probe of topology.
We have made a phase-sensitive measurement on the corner junction of the iron-based superconductor BaFe1.8Co0.2As2, and observed the typical Fraunhofer-like diffraction pattern. The result suggests that there is no phase shift between the a-c face and b-c face of a crystal, which indicates that the superconducting wavefunction of the iron based superconductor is different from that of a cuprate superconductor.
We report the effect of Ni doping on superconductivity of PdTe. The superconducting parameters like critical temperature (Tc), upper critical field (Hc2) and normalized specific-heat jump are reported for Ni doped Pd1-xNixTe. The samples of series Pd1-xNixTe with nominal compositions x=0, 0.01, 0.05, 0.07, 0.1, 0.15, 0.2, 0.3 and 1.0 are synthesized via vacuum shield solid state reaction route. All the studied samples of Pd1-xNixTe series are crystallized in hexagonal crystal structure as refined by Rietveld method to space group P63/mmc. Both the electrical resistivity and magnetic measurements revealed that Tc decreases with increase of Ni concentration in Pd1-xNixTe. The magneto-transport measurements suggest that flux is better pinned for 20% Ni doped PdTe as compared to other compositions of Pd1-xNixTe. The effect and contribution of Ni 3d electron to electronic structure and density of states near Fermi level in Pd1-xNixTe are also studied using first-principle calculations within spin polarized local density approximation. The overlap of bands at Fermi level for NiTe is larger as compared to PdTe. Also the density of states just below Fermi level (in conduction band) drops much lower for PdTe than as for NiTe. Summarily, Ni doping in Pd1-xNixTe superconductor suppresses superconductivity moderately and also Ni is of non magnetic character in these compounds.
We study a novel type of coupling between spin and orbital degrees of freedom which appears at triplet superconductor-ferromagnet interfaces. Using a self-consistent spatially-dependent mean-field theory, we show that increasing the angle between the ferromagnetic moment and the triplet vector order parameter enhances or suppresses the p-wave gap close to the interface, according as the gap antinodes are parallel or perpendicular to the boundary, respectively. The associated change in condensation energy establishes an orbitally-dependent preferred orientation for the magnetization. When both gap components are present, as in a chiral superconductor, we observe a first-order transition between different moment orientations as a function of the exchange field strength.
