It is well known that the effect of top quark loop corrections in the axial part of quark form factors (FF) does not decouple in the large top mass or low energy limit due to the presence of the axial-anomaly type diagrams. The top-loop induced singlet-type contribution should be included in addition to the purely massless result for quark FFs when applied to physics in the low energy region, both for the non-decoupling mass logarithms and for an appropriate renormalization scale dependence. In this work, we have numerically computed the so-called singlet contribution to quark FFs with the exact top quark mass dependence over the full kinematic range. We discuss in detail the renormalization formulae of the individual subsets of the singlet contribution to an axial quark FF with a particular flavor, as well as the renormalization group equations that govern their individual scale dependence. Finally we have extracted the 3-loop Wilson coefficient in the low energy effective Lagrangian, renormalized in a non-$overline{mathrm{MS}}$ scheme and constructed to encode the leading large mass approximation of our exact results for singlet quark FFs. We have also examined the accuracy of the approximation in the low energy region.
We compute the three-loop corrections to the quark axial vector form factor in massless QCD, focusing on the pure-singlet contributions where the axial vector current couples to a closed quark loop. Employing the Larin prescription for $gamma_5$, we discuss the UV renormalization of the form factor. The infrared singularity structure of the resulting singlet axial-vector form factor is explained from infrared factorization, defining a finite remainder function.
We compute the form factors of the photon-quark-anti-quark vertex and the effective vertex of a Higgs boson and two gluons to three-loop order within massless perturbative Quantum Chromodynamics. These results provide building blocks for many third-order cross sections. Furthermore, this is the first calculation of complete three-loop vertex corrections.
We consider the renormalization of the matrix elements of the bilinear quark operators $bar{psi}psi$, $bar{psi}gamma_mupsi$, and $bar{psi}sigma_{mu u}psi$ at next-to-next-to-next-to-leading order in QCD perturbation theory at the symmetric subtraction point. This allows us to obtain conversion factors between the $overline{rm MS}$ scheme and the regularization invariant symmetric momentum subtraction (RI/SMOM) scheme. The obtained results can be used to reduce the errors in determinations of quark masses from lattice QCD simulations. The results are given in Landau gauge.
We reconsider QCD factorization for the leading power contribution to the $gamma^{ast} gamma to pi^0$ form factor $F_{gamma^{ast} gamma to pi^0} (Q^2)$ at one loop using the evanescent operator approach, and demonstrate the equivalence of the resulting factorization formulae derived with distinct prescriptions of $gamma_5$ in dimensional regularization. Applying the light-cone QCD sum rules (LCSRs) with photon distribution amplitudes (DAs) we further compute the subleading power contribution to the pion-photon form factor induced by the hadronic component of the real photon at the next-to-leading-order in ${cal O}(alpha_s)$, with both naive dimensional regularization and t Hooft-Veltman schemes of $gamma_5$. Confronting our theoretical predictions of $F_{gamma^{ast} gamma to pi^0} (Q^2)$ with the experimental measurements from the BaBar and the Belle Collaborations implies that a reasonable agreement can be achieved without introducing an exotic end-point behaviour for the twist-2 pion DA.
We examine the quark mass dependence of the pion vector form factor, particularly the curvature (mean quartic radius). We focus our study on the consequences of assuming that the coupling constant of the rho to pions is largely independent of the quark mass while the quark mass dependence of the rho--mass is given by recent lattice data. By employing the Omnes representation we can provide a very clean estimate for a certain combination of the curvature and the square radius, whose quark mass dependence could be determined from lattice computations. This study provides an independent access to the quark mass dependence of the rho-pi-pi coupling and in this way a non-trivial check of the systematics of chiral extrapolations. We also provide an improved value for the curvature for physical values for the quark masses, namely <r^4> = 0.73 +- 0.09 fm^4 or equivalently c_V=4.00pm 0.50 GeV^{-4}.
