In this article, the mass spectra of mesons with one or two heavy quarks and their diquarks partners are estimated within a non-relativistic framework by solving Schrodinger equation with an effective potential inspired by a symmetry preserving Poincare covariant vector-vector contact interaction model of quantum chromodynamics. Matrix Numerov method is implemented for this purpose. In our survey of mesons with heavy quarks, we fix the model parameter to the masses of ground-states and then extend our calculations for radial excitations and diquarks. The potential model used in this work gives results which are in good agreement with experimental data and other theoretical calculations.

Using the newly measured masses of $B_c(1S)$ and $B_c(2S)$ from the CMS Collaboration and the $1S$ hyperfine splitting determined from the lattice QCD as constrains, we calculate the $B_c$ mass spectrum up to the $6S$ multiplet with a nonrelativistic linear potential model. Furthermore, using the wave functions from this model we calculate the radiative transitions between the $B_c$ states within a constituent quark model. For the higher mass $B_c$ states lying above $DB$ threshold, we also evaluate the Okubo-Zweig-Iizuka (OZI) allowed two-body strong decays with the $^{3}P_{0}$ model. Our study indicates that besides there are large potentials for the observations of the low-lying $B_c$ states below the $DB$ threshold via their radiative transitions, some higher mass $B_c$ states, such as $B_c(2^3P_2)$, $B_c(2^3D_1)$, $B_c(3^3D_1)$, $B_c(4^3P_0)$, and the $1F$-wave $B_c$ states, might be first observed in their dominant strong decay channels $DB$, $DB^*$ or $D^*B$ at the LHC for their relatively narrow widths.

The experimental data on hadron yields and ratios in central Pb+Pb and Au+Au collisions at SPS and RHIC energies, respectively, are analysed within a two-source statistical model of an ideal hadron gas. These two sources represent the expanding system of colliding heavy ions, where the hot central fireball is embedded in a larger but cooler fireball. The volume of the central source increases with rising bombarding energy. Results of the two-source model fit to RHIC experimental data at midrapidity coincide with the results of the one-source thermal model fit, indicating the formation of an extended fireball, which is three times larger than the corresponding core at SPS.

We present a path-integral hadronization for doubly heavy baryons. The two heavy quarks in the baryon are approximated as a scalar or axial-vector diquark described by a heavy diquark effective theory. The gluon dynamics are represented by a NJL-Model interaction for the heavy diquarks and light quarks, which leads to an effective action of the baryon fields after the quark and diquark fields are integrated out. This effective action for doubly heavy baryon includes the electromagnetic and electroweak interactions, as well as the interaction with light mesons. We also verify the Ward-Takahashi identity at the baryon level, obtain the Isgur-Wise function for weak transitions, and calculate the strong coupling constant of the doubly heavy baryon and pion. Numerical studies are also performed.
An important first step in the program of hadronization of chiral quark models is the bosonization in meson and diquark channels. This procedure is presented at finite temperatures and chemical potentials for the SU(2) flavor case of the NJL model with special emphasis on the mixing between scalar meson and scalar diquark modes which occurs in the 2SC color superconducting phase. The thermodynamic potential is obtained in the gaussian approximation for the meson and diquark fields and it is given the Beth-Uhlenbeck form. This allows a detailed discussion of bound state dissociation in hot, dense matter (Mott effect) in terms of the in-medium scattering phase shift of two-particle correlations. It is shown for the case without meson-diquark mixing that the phase shift can be separated into a continuum and a resonance part. In the latter, the Mott transition manifests itself by a change of the phase shift at threshold by pi in accordance with Levinsons theorem, when a bound state transforms to a resonance in the scattering continuum. The consequences for the contribution of pionic correlations to the pressure are discussed by evaluating the Beth-Uhlenbeck equation of state in different approximations. A similar discussion is performed for the scalar diquark channel in the normal phase. Further developments and applications of the developed approach are outlined.
We develop a new heavy quark transport model, QLBT, to simulate the dynamical propagation of heavy quarks inside the quark-gluon plasma (QGP) created in relativistic heavy-ion collisions. Our QLBT model is based on the linear Boltzmann transport (LBT) model with the ideal QGP replaced by a collection of quasi-particles to account for the non-perturbative interactions among quarks and gluons of the hot QGP. The thermal masses of quasi-particles are fitted to the equation of state from lattice QCD simulations using the Bayesian statistical analysis method. Combining QLBT with our advanced hybrid fragmentation-coalescence hadronization approach, we calculate the nuclear modification factor $R_mathrm{AA}$ and the elliptic flow $v_2$ of $D$ mesons at the Relativistic Heavy-Ion Collider and the Large Hadron Collider. By comparing our QLBT calculation to the experimental data on the $D$ meson $R_mathrm{AA}$ and $v_2$, we extract the heavy quark transport parameter $hat{q}$ and diffusion coefficient $D_mathrm{s}$ in the temperature range of $1-4~T_mathrm{c}$, and compare them with the lattice QCD results and other phenomenological studies.
