This paper is concerned with the localized behaviors of the solution $u$ to the Navier-Stokes equations near the potential singular points. We establish the concentration rate for the $L^{p,infty}$ norm of $u$ with $3leq pleqinfty$. Namely, we show that if $z_0=(t_0,x_0)$ is a singular point, then for any $r>0$, it holds begin{align} limsup_{tto t_0^-}||u(t,x)-u(t)_{x_0,r}||_{L^{3,infty}(B_r(x_0))}>delta^*, otag end{align} and begin{align} limsup_{tto t_0^-}(t_0-t)^{frac{1}{mu}}r^{frac{2}{ u}-frac{3}{p}}||u(t)||_{L^{p,infty}(B_r(x_0))}>delta^* otag for~3<pleqinfty, ~frac{1}{mu}+frac{1}{ u}=frac{1}{2}~and~2leq uleqfrac{2}{3}p, otag end{align}where $delta^*$ is a positive constant independent of $p$ and $ u$. Our main tools are some $varepsilon$-regularity criteria in $L^{p,infty}$ spaces and an embedding theorem from $L^{p,infty}$ space into a Morrey type space. These are of independent interests.

In this paper, we present strong numerical evidences that the $3$D incompressible axisymmetric Navier-Stokes equations with degenerate diffusion coefficients and smooth initial data of finite energy develop a potential finite time locally self-similar singularity at the origin. The spatial part of the degenerate diffusion coefficient is a smooth function of $r$ and $z$ independent of the solution and vanishes like $O(r^2)+O(z^2)$ near the origin. This potential singularity is induced by a potential singularity of the $3$D Euler equations. An important feature of this potential singularity is that the solution develops a two-scale traveling wave that travels towards the origin. The two-scale feature is characterized by the property that the center of the traveling wave approaches the origin at a slower rate than the rate of the collapse of the singularity. The driving mechanism for this potential singularity is due to two antisymmetric vortex dipoles that generate a strong shearing layer in both the radial and axial velocity fields. Without the viscous regularization, the $3$D Euler equations develop an additional small scale characterizing the thickness of the sharp front. On the other hand, the Navier-Stokes equations with a constant diffusion coefficient regularize the two-scale solution structure and do not develop a finite time singularity for the same initial data. The initial condition is designed in such a way that it generates a positive feedback loop that enforces a strong nonlinear alignment of vortex stretching, leading to a stable locally self-similar blowup at the origin. We perform careful resolution study and asymptotic scaling analysis to provide further support of the potential finite time locally self-similar blowup.

In this article, we establish sufficient conditions for the regularity of solutions of Navier-Stokes equations based on one of the nine entries of the gradient tensor. We improve the recently results of C.S. Cao, E.S. Titi (Arch. Rational Mech.Anal. 202 (2011) 919-932) and Y. Zhou, M. Pokorn$acute{y}$ (Nonlinearity 23, 1097-1107 (2010)).

In this paper, we consider the energy conservation and regularity of the weak solution $u$ to the Navier-Stokes equations in the endpoint case. We first construct a divergence-free field $u(t,x)$ which satisfies $lim_{tto T}sqrt{T-t}||u(t)||_{BMO}<infty$ and $lim_{tto T}sqrt{T-t}||u(t)||_{L^infty}=infty$ to demonstrate that the Type II singularity is admissible in the endpoint case $uin L^{2,infty}(BMO)$. Secondly, we prove that if a suitable weak solution $u(t,x)$ satisfying $||u||_{L^{2,infty}([0,T];BMO(Omega))}<infty$ for arbitrary $Omegasubseteqmathbb{R}^3$ then the local energy equality is valid on $[0,T]timesOmega$. As a corollary, we also prove $||u||_{L^{2,infty}([0,T];BMO(mathbb{R}^3))}<infty$ implies the global energy equality on $[0,T]$. Thirdly, we show that as the solution $u$ approaches a finite blowup time $T$, the norm $||u(t)||_{BMO}$ must blow up at a rate faster than $frac{c}{sqrt{T-t}}$ with some absolute constant $c>0$. Furthermore, we prove that if $||u_3||_{L^{2,infty}([0,T];BMO(mathbb{R}^3))}=M<infty$ then there exists a small constant $c_M$ depended on $M$ such that if $||u_h||_{L^{2,infty}([0,T];BMO(mathbb{R}^3))}leq c_M$ then $u$ is regular on $(0,T]timesmathbb{R}^3$.
We consider the Cauchy problem for the incompressible homogeneous Navier-Stokes (NS) equations on a d-dimensional torus, in the C^infinity formulation described, e.g., in [25]. In [22][25] it was shown how to obtain quantitative estimates on the exact solution of the NS Cauchy problem via the a posteriori analysis of an approximate solution; such estimates concern the interval of existence of the exact solution and its distance from the approximate solution. In the present paper we consider an approximate solutions of the NS Cauchy problem having the form u^N(t) = sum_{j=0}^N R^j u_j(t), where R is the mathematical Reynolds number (the reciprocal of the kinematic viscosity) and the coefficients u_j(t) are determined stipulating that the NS equations be satisfied up to an error O(R^{N+1}). This subject was already treated in [24], where, as an application, the Reynolds expansion of order N=5 in dimension d=3 was considered for the initial datum of Behr-Necas-Wu (BNW). In the present paper, these results are enriched regarding both the theoretical analysis and the applications. Concerning the theoretical aspect, we refine the approach of [24] following [25] and use the symmetries of the initial datum in building up the expansion. Concerning the applicative aspect we consider two more (d=3) initial data, namely, the vortices of Taylor-Green (TG) and Kida-Murakami (KM); the Reynolds expansions for the BNW, TG and KM data are performed via a Python program, attaining orders between N=12 and N=20. Our a posteriori analysis proves, amongst else, that the solution of the NS equations with anyone of the above three data is global if R is below an explicitly computed critical value. Our critical Reynolds numbers are below the ones characterizing the turbulent regime; however these bounds have a sound theoretical support, are fully quantitative and improve previous results of global existence.

In this paper we consider the barotropic compressible quantum Navier-Stokes equations with a linear density dependent viscosity and its limit when the scaled Planck constant vanish. Following recent works on degenerate compressible Navier-Stokes equations, we prove the global existence of weak solutions by the use of a singular pressure close to vacuum. With such singular pressure, we can use the standard definition of global weak solutions which also allows to justify the limit when the scaled Planck constant denoted by $epsilon$ tends to 0.
