With analyzing the mass function obtained by solving Dyson-Schwinger Equations, we propose a cut-off independent definition of quark condensate beyond chiral limit. With this well-defined condensate, we then analyze the evolution of the condensate and its susceptibility with the current quark mass. The susceptibility shows a critical mass in the neighborhood of the s-quark current mass, which defines a transition boundary for internal hadron dynamics.

It is shown that the spin polarized condensate appears in quark matter at high baryon density and low temperature due to the tensor-type four-point interaction in the Nambu-Jona-Lasinio-type model as a low energy effective theory of quantum chromodynamics. It is indicated within this low energy effective model that the chiral symmetry is broken again by the spin polarized condensate as increasing the quark number density, while the chiral symmetry restoration occurs in which the chiral condensate disappears at a certain density.

We study aspects of the pion condensation in two-flavor neutral quark matter using the Nambu--Jona-Lasinio model of QCD at finite density. We investigate the role of electric charge neutrality, and explicit symmetry breaking via quark mass, both of which control the onset of the charged pion $(pi^c)$ condensation. We show that the equality between the electric chemical potential and the in-medium pion mass, $mu_{e}=M_{pi^-}$, as a threshold, persists even for a composite pion system in the medium, provided the transition to the pion condensed phase is of the second order. Moreover, we find that the pion condensate in neutral quark matter is extremely fragile to the symmetry breaking effect via a current quark mass $m$, and is ruled out for $m$ larger than the order of 10 keV.
Assuming that at sufficiently high densities the constituent quarks become relevant degrees of freedom, we study within the framework of a chiral quark model the influence of s-wave $K^-$ condensation on the quark-antiquark condensates. We find that, in linear density approximation, the presence of a $K^-$ condensate quenches the $bar{u}u$ condensate, but that the $bar{d}d$ condensate remains unaffected up to the chiral order under consideration. We discuss the implication of the suppressed $bar{u}u$ condensate for flavor-dependent chiral symmetry restoration in dense matter
Many prior studies of in-medium quarkonium suppression have implicitly made use of an adiabatic approximation in which it was assumed that the heavy quark potential is a slowly varying function of time. In the adiabatic limit, one can separately determine the in-medium breakup rate and the medium time evolution, folding these together only at the end of the calculation. In this paper, we relax this assumption by solving the 3d Schrodinger equation in real-time in order to compute quarkonium suppression dynamically. We compare results obtained using the adiabatic approximation with real-time calculations for both harmonic oscillator and realistic complex heavy quark potentials. Using the latter, we find that, for the Upsilon(1s), the difference between the adiabatic approximation and full real-time evolution is at the few percent level, however, for the Upsilon(2s), we find that the correction can be as large as 18% in low temperature regions. For the J/Psi, we find a larger difference between the dynamical evolution and the adiabatic approximation, with the error reaching approximately 36%.

From the overlap lattice quark propagator calculated in the Landau gauge, we determine the quark chiral condensate by fitting operator product expansion formulas to the lattice data. The quark propagators are computed on domain wall fermion configurations generated by the RBC-UKQCD Collaborations with $N_f=2+1$ flavors. Three ensembles with different light sea quark masses are used at one lattice spacing $1/a=1.75(4)$ GeV. We obtain $langlebarpsipsirangle^{overline{rm MS}}(2mbox{ GeV})=(-305(15)(21)mbox{ MeV})^3$ in the SU(2) chiral limit.
