The violation of CP symmetry is one of Sakharovs conditions for the matter-antimatter asymmetry of the Universe. Currently known sources of CP violation in the quark and neutrino sectors are insufficient to account for this. Is CP also violated in the Higgs sector? Could the SM-like Higgs boson be a mixture of even and odd CP states of an extended Higgs sector? With what precision could such effects be measured at future electron-positron colliders? These questions will be discussed in the light of the latest and ongoing studies at ILC.

Constraining CP-violating interactions in effective field theory (EFT) of dimension six faces two challenges. Firstly, degeneracies in the multi-dimensional space of Wilson coefficients have to be lifted. Secondly, quadratic contributions of CP-odd dimension six operators are difficult to disentangle from squared contributions of CP-even dimension six operators and from linear contributions of dimension eight operators. Both of these problems are present when new sources of CP-violation are present in the interactions between the Higgs boson and heavy strongly-interacting fermions. We show that degeneracies in the Wilson coefficients can be removed by combining measurements of Higgs-plus-two-jet production via gluon fusion with measurements of top-pair associated Higgs production. In addition, we demonstrate that the sensitivity of the analysis can be improved by exploiting the top-quark threshold in the gluon fusion process. Finally, we substantiate a perturbative argument about the validity of EFT by comparing the quadratic and linear contributions from CP-odd dimension six operators and use this to show explicitly that high statistics measurements at future colliders enable the extraction of perturbatively robust constraints on the associated Wilson coefficients.
We consider a gauged U(1)$_{B-L}$ (Baryon-minus-Lepton number) extension of the Standard Model (SM), which is anomaly-free in the presence of three Right-Handed Neutrinos (RHNs). Associated with the U(1)$_{B-L}$ symmetry breaking the RHNs acquire their Majorana masses and then play the crucial role to generate the neutrino mass matrix by the seesaw mechanism. Towards the experimental confirmation of the seesaw mechanism, we investigate a RHN pair production through the U(1)$_{B-L}$ gauge boson ($Z^prime$) at the 250 GeV International Linear Collider (ILC). The $Z^prime$ gauge boson has been searched at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) Run-2 and its production cross section is already severely constrained. The constraint will become more stringent by the future experiments with the High-Luminosity upgrade of the LHC (HL-LHC). We find a possibility that even after a null $Z^prime$ boson search result at the HL-LHC, the 250 GeV ILC can search for the RHN pair production through the final state with same-sign dileptons plus jets, which is a `smoking-gun signature from the Majorana nature of RHNs. In addition, some of RHNs are long-lived and leave a clean signature with a displaced vertex. Therefore, the 250 GeV ILC can operate as not only a Higgs Factory but also a RHN discovery machine to explore the origin of the Majorana neutrino mass generation, namely the seesaw mechanism.

We study the Higgs sector of the next-to-minimal supersymmetric standard model (NMSSM) with explicit CP violation at the one-loop level, where the radiative corrections due to the quarks and squarks of the third generation are taken into account. We expect that, within a reasonable region of the parameter space of the present model, at least one of five neutral Higgs bosons may be produced at the future $e^+ e^-$ International Linear Collider (ILC) with $sqrt{s} = 500$ GeV, with cross section larger than 12 fb, 15 fb, and 1.5 fb, respectively, via the Higgs-strahlung process, the $WW$ fusion process, and the $ZZ$ fusion process. We find that the effect of the CP phase in the present model yields significant influences upon the production cross sections of the five neutral Higgs bosons. We also study the decay modes of the five neutral Higgs bosons to find that their decay widths are similarly affected by the CP phase. Some of the decay modes in the present model behave differently from those of the Standard Model.

In the Standard Model, the Higgs boson is a CP even state with CP conserving couplings; any deviations from this would be a sign of new physics. These CP properties can be probed by measuring Higgs decays to tau lepton pairs: the transverse correlation between the tau spins depends on CP. This paper develops such an analysis, using full simulation of signal and background events in the International Large Detector concept for the International Linear Collider. We consider Higgs-strahlung events e+ e- -> Z H) in which the Z boson decays to electrons, muons, or hadrons, and the Higgs boson decays to $tau$ leptons, which then decay either to (pi+ nu) or (pi+ pi0 nu). Assuming 2 ab^{-1} of integrated luminosity at a center-of-mass energy of 250~GeV, the mixing angle psi_CP between even and odd CP components of the tau pair from Higgs boson decays can be measured to a precision of 75~mrad (4.3 deg).

We study the neutral Higgs sector of the minimal supersymmetric standard model (MSSM) with explicit CP violation at the one-loop level. We take into account the one-loop contributions by the top quark, the stop quarks, the bottom quark, the sbottom quarks, the tau lepton, the stau leptons, the $W$ boson, the charged Higgs boson, the charginos, the $Z$ boson, the neutral Higgs bosons, and the neutralinos. The production cross sections of the neutral Higgs boson are calculated to the leading order. The processes in our consideration are divided in two groups: the Higgs-strahlung and gluon fusion processes accessible at the CERN Large Hadron Collider (LHC), and the vector boson fusion and Higgs-strahlung processes accessible at the $e^+e^-$ International Linear Collider (ILC). In particular, we investigate the dependence of these processes on the CP phase arising from the U(1) factor of the gaugino mass in the neutralino mass matrix. We show that the cross sections of these processes vary by the range of 3% $-$ 19 % as the CP phase changes from zero to $pi$.
