We study the strategic interaction among vehicles in a non-cooperative platoon coordination game. Vehicles have predefined routes in a transportation network with a set of hubs where vehicles can wait for other vehicles to form platoons. Vehicles decide on their waiting times at hubs and the utility function of each vehicle includes both the benefit from platooning and the cost of waiting. We show that the platoon coordination game is a potential game when the travel times are either deterministic or stochastic, and the vehicles decide on their waiting times at the beginning of their journeys. We also propose two feedback solutions for the coordination problem when the travel times are stochastic and vehicles are allowed to update their strategies along their routes. The solutions are evaluated in a simulation study over the Swedish road network. It is shown that uncertainty in travel times affects the total benefit of platooning drastically and the benefit from platooning in the system increases significantly when utilizing feedback solutions.

In this work, we perform safety analysis of linear dynamical systems with uncertainties. Instead of computing a conservative overapproximation of the reachable set, our approach involves computing a statistical approximate reachable set. As a result, the guarantees provided by our method are probabilistic in nature. In this paper, we provide two different techniques to compute statistical approximate reachable set. We have implemented our algorithms in a python based prototype and demonstrate the applicability of our approaches on various case studies. We also provide an empirical comparison between the two proposed methods and with Flow*.

Zonotopes are widely used for over-approximating forward reachable sets of uncertain linear systems. In this paper, we use zonotopes to achieve more scalable algorithms that under-approximate backward reachable sets for uncertain linear systems. The main difference is that the backward reachability analysis is a two-player game and involves Minkowski difference operations, but zonotopes are not closed under such operations. We under-approximate this Minkowski difference with a zonotope, which can be obtained by solving a linear optimization problem. We further develop an efficient zonotope order reduction technique to bound the complexity of the obtained zonotopic under-approximations. The proposed approach is evaluated against existing approaches using randomly generated instances, and illustrated with an aircraft position control system.
We present a new continuous Lyapunov Redesign (LR) methodology for the robust stabilization of a class of uncertain time-delay systems that is based on the so-called Super Twisting Algorithm. The main feature of the proposed approach is that allows one to simultaneously adjust the chattering effect and achieve asymptotic stabilization of the uncertain system, which is lost when continuous approximation of the unit control is considered. At the basis of the Super Twisting based LR methodology is a class of Lyapunov-Krasovskii functionals, whose particular form of its time derivative allows one to define a delay-free sliding manifold on which some class of smooth uncertainties are compensated.
This paper studies the robust satisfiability check and online control synthesis problems for uncertain discrete-time systems subject to signal temporal logic (STL) specifications. Different from existing techniques, this work proposes an approach based on STL, reachability analysis, and temporal logic trees. Firstly, a real-time version of STL semantics and a tube-based temporal logic tree are proposed. We show that such a tree can be constructed from every STL formula. Secondly, using the tube-based temporal logic tree, a sufficient condition is obtained for the robust satisfiability check of the uncertain system. When the underlying system is deterministic, a necessary and sufficient condition for satisfiability is obtained. Thirdly, an online control synthesis algorithm is designed. It is shown that when the STL formula is robustly satisfiable and the initial state of the system belongs to the initial root node of the tube-based temporal logic tree, it is guaranteed that the trajectory generated by the controller satisfies the STL formula. The effectiveness of the proposed approach is verified by an automated car overtaking example.

In this paper, we investigate a constrained optimal coordination problem for a class of heterogeneous nonlinear multi-agent systems described by high-order dynamics subject to both unknown nonlinearities and external disturbances. Each agent has a private objective function and a constraint about its output. A neural network-based distributed controller is developed for each agent such that all agent outputs can reach the constrained minimal point of the aggregate objective function with bounded residual errors. Two examples are finally given to demonstrate the effectiveness of the algorithm.
